Who Scott Is, But Not Why You Should Care
Who Scott Is, But Not Why You Should Care
"...I have always been a firm believer in my right to do anything which I cannot be stopped from doing. Which sometimes entails not getting
caught at it. This is not quite so bad as it sounds, as I am a decent, civilized, likable sort of guy." -Roger Zelazny, Doorways in the Sand
Things That Are True
- I've been married to Crystal since 1984. It's generally pretty cool, ranging to excellent at the high end and trying at the low...with one nasty psychotic episode we both contributed to. But that's past.
I'm pleased we're still here.
- I've two kids...
- Stephanie Danielle, a far-too-mature twelve year old who spends her time finding the sensation of the moment...
- Michael Aulden, my nine year old boy, who seems to be finding life's deeper meanings. He scares me. I like that.
- I've two cats. Normally I name cats things like Lord Siva the Destroyer, Finn MacCumhail, or Odysseus, but these two are Tangerine and Kumquat as both are (impending pun!) just a little orange. *sigh* Sorry; I named 'em while drinking.
- I'm attached at the hip to Ed. He's who I am when I'm not me. Between the two of us, we encompass all that is good and noble in the human race...which leads me to believe that God likes practical jokes.
- I'm not attached at the hip to Emily (whom you can see on Ray's page), but she runs a close second. We're teaching each other Gaelic while she quietly points out one or two flaws in my personality. Very quietly. Between She, Crystal, and Ed, I've learned almost enough to be as smart as my kids. Emily has done such monumentally good things for me as introduce me to Heather Alexander. A very, very good thing.
- Emily, Ray, and Kirby make up the Squids(tm), and associating with their august selves permitted my becoming known by Cera, which is turning out to be one of the finer things to happen to me. Cera accuses me of possessing a dangerous voice suitable for repeating poetry by Auden. If any of you out there know what that means, please e-mail me and tell me....
- This year I went to my first game convention, AmberconNW. Being a Zelazny-phile, I naturally enjoyed myself immensely. I spent the weekend plotting, lying, poisoning, framing, double-crossing, and assassinating relatives. How can that not be fun?
- I'm passionate in patches, and they rotate. They revolve around my loved ones, Roger Zelazny, Robert B. Parker, and gaming. I'm fascinated by other people's minds, lives, and foibles, rarely agree with but love to discuss their choices.
This has recently led me to look into various different gothic bits, T.S. Eliot, and other people's web-pages.
