Cowboy Slang

Cowboys have a colorful language all of their own. Learn a few of these phrases and you’ll be welcome around any campfire. :-)

The phrase is the first one, and the translation of it is right below.

”I was chewing gravel.”
I was thrown from a bucking bronco.

”I’ve had the mulligrubs all day.”
I feel sad.

”It’s time to get into my flea trap.”
I’m going to bed.

”That’s a real toad floater.”
It’s raining heavily.

”That horse is worth doodly squat.”
That horse is useless.

”John just stepped off the trail.”
John got married/got a job in town.

”Don’t hog-tie me with your fancy words!”
Don’t confuse me!
