The Ocean
The sand beneath my feet disappears
As the lukewarm seawater crashes all around me
The salty ocean air lingers on my toungue
as I take in every marine-soaked breath possible
The cries of sand pipers and the crash of waves softly ring
Through my ears and resonate in my soul
She comes up behind me, scaring just a little
Placing her loving arms around my waist
Her head, placed against my back, listening to my beating heart
Lightly inquires with angelic voice, "Will you love me forever?"
I turn around and gaze deeply in her eyes
As I tearfully reply, "You and only you, forever more"
As our Loving embrace challenges time itself
The sun rests it's tired head beneath the far off horizon
And it's bed, the ocean, flows around us...
