Firstly I must say that I am truly proud to be your Director.  However I feel that I have let you all down over the past year because I have not made you responsible for your own business and not made you accountable to your GOALS.  What concerns me right now is that many of you still don’t seem that confident in either YOUR abilities OR what Mary Kay Cosmetics has to offer to you and to potential new consultants out there!!  That really puzzles me!  Is it because Mary Kay Cosmetics environment is SO different from the 'outer world' that it's just too good to be true for many people OR is there simply an attitude “out there” that we shouldn’t want to improve ourselves?!!  You see every one of you has SO much potential, and Mary Kay Ash gave you this chance to really make a marked difference in your lives, as well as in others as well therefore giving you the chance to achieve ANYTHING you want. 

As your Director I can see your potential, and what is probably the “only catch” (as some of you ask me), about being a Director in this business, is seeing so many people doubt themselves or their abilities or in some cases decide that it’s all too hard, and therefore either give up on their goals OR simply stop doing it!  Of course not everyone wants to be a Director, BUT everyone DOES want to be a success in their own right! 

Over the past few months I’ve seen alot of you feeling "ICKY"!!!!  If that is a good word for it!!  Not really ‘out there’ like you need and want to be.  Of course, by the same token some of you have done better than what you were doing and THAT is SO good to see!!  If you honestly look at What YOU do in your business, and do what keeps you going. and if it is mainly from an ‘outside force’ than maybe you need to reassess your Mary Kay business.  By ‘outside force’ I mean, do you rely on someone else to continually prop you up??? REALLY soul search, YOU need to be at a point within yourself, that you know that if you were on your own, that you COULD make this work. DON’T say it can’t be done, because its all been done before, by women who’ve been in FAR harder positions than you.  For example Marilyn Shirmer from Cairns Australia - 2 years ago was living in Emergency housing, a single mum with three children, had trouble finding money for food.  Did not own a car - could not afford to drive one.  Today she is living in a house she built in Cairns, is a Senior Director, drives a pink car, Won the tnp to Queenstown in January but was unable to join us because she had promised to take her kids to Surfer’s Paradise for two weeks.  She told her children that they could have anything they wanted and to do anything and everything.  At the end of the trip she wrote out a cheque for $7000.  August she flew off to Dallas and in September she will be joining six other Directors on a trip to Africa all paid for by the Company.  Her commission cheque for June was $12,000.  Don’t tell me she could buy her way through this company or that she is lucky.  Marilyn had a need to change both hers and her family’s lifestyle. With hard work, commitment, discipline and determination and sharing this business with enough women and helping them all achieve their goals, Marilyn has got to where she is today.  Ladies anyone can achieve what Marilyn Shirmer has achieved in the last two years, but only a small percentage will!!!  Are you going to be one of them or are you going to be looking back on your life in a few years wishing you had done it? 

Are you just ‘taking’ all the positives that Mark Kay has to offer us, like, the advice, encouragement, support and then the terrific educational opportunities like the Product Specialist Course and Red Jacket Retreats, but are not then willing to put yourself ‘out there’ and share it with the world!! 

I want a Unit of women that each have THEIR own goals that they follow up on without hesitation and self doubt.  To see you JUST do it, by your OWN steam yet with the rest of us just looking on and applauding you and being here to encourage you as YOU make it happen. You just have to take responsibility for your own businesses ladies!  Don’t keep saying it's all right for ME, or whoever else you see make it happen!! That is so unfair!! 

By taking responsibility You are giving yourself the ultimate test......Can YOU make it happen!! And I promise you, if you get on that phone, make 10 appointments this week, get out your door and just DO IT, you WILL see and feel TRUE success!!!  I can’t do it for you, neither can your Recruiter or friends in Mary Kay.  In the past I think we have all felt we wanted to help 
each other too much, but as a UNIT we NOW need to encourage EACH of us to take responsibility for our OWN business. 

I have challenged myself to hold 20 classes this month and next. That has always been the Key to Success, since I started my business 5 years ago. This month I am telling all my hostesses that if they book a class and invite 4 to 6 friends they will not only earn Free products but each hostess will go into the draw to win the Fabulous Colourific Kit (One of our new products) So far I have not had one person say no.  I can CHALLENGE or even DARE you to do the same, and you can choose to do it too, or simply not try!!  If you DO you will have lost nothing because I can promise you your business will not look back. The feeling of SELF FULFILLMENT will be AWESOME for you and we will all celebrate your new SUCCESS. 

What ever happens this month and next ladies, I will be watching you all with care and hope, and will expect you to take personal action and responsibility. The time has come to share the opportunity like never before, its NOT good enough to just keep ambling along, we are at risk of never attracting more women to this fantastic career if we keep doing as we have always done!! Women want and need to feel part of something that holds hope and fulfillment for their future. 

If each of us Feel SUCCESSFUL, then WE are going to attract hundreds of women. Mary Kay asks that if we do nothing else with this business, we at least pass it on. I challenge you all to do this small thing for Mary Kay starting this month. I will then get a card that you will all sign along with your new Consultants to send to Mary Kay Ash, to really let her know that we are 
‘PASSING ON HER DREAM’.
