We've been inclined to think that the WTC was earth's greatest structure that terrorists destroyed on 9/11. But the Sears Tower in Chicago still stands taller. Both were built in the seventies at 110 stories each, but Sears has another twenty more in a top tower. Then there's those twin towers over in Luala Lumpur, capitol of Malaysia that are an Islamic marvel. So the sixteen acres of Ground Zero now vacant, didn't house earth's very tallest. For me, the Empire State Building was a wonder as I grew up. It was finished in '31 and as a child I saw the movie where King Kong climbed it only to be shot and fall on to the pavement of East Ave. I can also recall the Golden Gate Bridge completed in '37 to span the entrance of Frisco Bay. Also the beginning of the National Interstate highway system in the fifties; then the Chunnel under the English Channel for a railroad to France. What marvels mankind achieved in the 20th century. But now we come in this 21st to a couple of proposals that will complete the loop: A Millennium Building alongside Hong Kong and the Freedom Ship for global living. I say "loop" because they mimic the ancient Tower of Babel and the Ark of Noah (Genesis 11 & 6). One had to be tall to have "it's top in the heavens" and the other extremely large to preserve all animal life. Now if China goes ahead with their super- skyscraper off shore their money making capitalist city, it will tax not only China's own resources, but also all other nations to finish. With a gigantic square base, The Millennium Tower will taper down to a pole at it's top half a mile up. It will be twice the height of anything yet built and be home to an entire "vertical city." Another type will be the "floating" one aboard The Freedom Ship, where residents can circum-navigate the globe as months go by. Of course, rent will be high. But climate can be varied and everyplace available to visit by air taxi. Thus a highly vertical or broadly horizontal existence will be available. So we might see "Ground Zero" on this first anniversary of 9/11 as a launch pad for infinite possibilities yet to achieve, if the Lord delays His return; though I tend to take these two ventures as signs of completion. I used to feel that humanity had a destiny even greater in outer space. But more and more now, I see it only in the supernatural. I once thought technology might solve everything. And I still marvel at man's achievements. But we can never build the Kingdom of Heaven. Christ will bring it at His final coming in glory. I pray that America may realize that on September eleventh: "In GOD We Trust"...to finally return. Closure is a term we often hear today, and I think it can apply to all of history too. Nearly the last words of the Bible are "Come Lord Jesus." Cosmic closure is when He comes with His holy angels to bring back spirits of all the deceased saints which are then rejoined with their resurrected/glorified bodies becoming immortal beings (spirit+body=soul).
