ANGELFIRE 8-23-10 Sept.2 begins anew the Israeli/Palestinian talks about having two states. Such was a part of Obama"s platform, so Ambassador George Mitchell (famous for settling Ireland's civil war) will head the effort along with the Quartette so eager to gain peace there (UN, EU, Russian Federation and US. It could build into a momentous world crisis since it's the issue central to human history. Bible believers will find little support for allowing old Jerusalem to become the Palestinian capitol, even though there's a mosque (or Muslim shrine) where the Temple formerly stood. It would be radical indeed to demand it's removal since the shrine has been there for centuries now. Yet it causes Palestinians to see Jerusalem as the capitol they deserve. Yet devout religious Jews will not allow that to happen. So George Mitchell is being given a year to work out the agreement. And because the former Temple is so prominent in our O.T., Bible believers will not be happy with a mosque always atop the holy mount described in our Scriptures. It seems to ANGELFIRE somewhat like the one planned to stand just two blocks from ground zero in NYC. Of course faith is much deeper than sacred buildings. But they signify a "sort of" domain that endures as long as they remain standings, like Jerusalem's Dome of the Rock. I've visited there twice and took off my shoes (required to go in a mosque), though I don't recall male muslims face-down on prayer rugs. In fact it was new to me seeing the pictures of that new Islamic grade school in OKC named Mercy, where the boys prayed down on their knees (but not prone). The photo was in Sunday's Oklahoman. Now I still wonder what posture females take to worship their Allah. And I'm glad our Lord Jesus told us to go into our room and worship the Father privately, so that he who sees in secret will reward us openly. Jesus knew how many displayed their piety in hollow rituals, "to be seen of men." He really meant that true worship isn't for show. I feel that phoney showmanship has replaced spiritual reality, especially on TV. And real faith isn't so much in conspicuous rituals (like getting down on a rug at five designated times each day) as it is in sacred Jesus moments that produce love toward God and others. ANGELFIRE 8-27-10 Even Labor Day won't get near the attention that Katrina's fifth anniversary is already having. New Orleans has come a long way back from all that disaster and that's a welcome change of news from the Oil Spill that's still another recovery on the agenda for US. The leak was a mile down in the Gulf instead of out of the eastern sky, the way hurricanes usually come. But we can give thanks for those Americans who labored in both instances to help rebuild. ANGELFIRE sees the true labor for good as coming from God, whether by religious or secular workers. It did create jobs, but now we hear that unemploymeht keeps increasing. So that fuels fear of being in worse than even a doubledip recession. The unspeakable word is DEPRESSION (shhh..). Our nation's banker, Fed. Chmn. Ben Bernanke, spoke today about what the Federal Reserve may have to do, including more stimulus spending. That will add to the trillions of our national debt. And trying to get cured on national subidies seems like taking drug shots instead of getting well. We know that pain shots help us in emergencies, but we must never get addictec to them. Stimulus money sure looks like an addiction economically. I'm sort of glad this won't be in the Democrat, since it's too late to be submitted. Just don't like to speak as pessimestically as this. But on the up side, we are seeing signs of the Gulf getting clear of snymore oil, so the leak has been stopped. And the news of Jimmy Carter going to N.Korea, getting that American set free and bringing him back home again sure gives us gladness. But the heavenly joy for Bible believers is still the final promise of our Lord Jesus in Rev.22:17 "Behold, I come quickly." ANGELFIRE 8-30-10 The Scripture I was led to read this morning was Psalm 18, in which Yahweh comes to rescue king David. His descent from the Temple above combines various extremes of weather weather, which fall upon David's enemies. As I looked at the start after reading it I saw 2 Sam.22 as a cross reference. That was the same psalm from a previous record. So I pondered just why it was included twice. Must have been very important, David wrote it in thanks that he was spared from Saul's plan to get him killed. So then I noticed that the current news was about hurricane Katrina hitting N.O. five years ago. That was near death for that great city of America. But instead of a Katrina day, we saw a recovery rally at our nation's capitol, "Recovering Honor" was it's theme. The hundreds of thousands attending were as concerned about that Boy Scout virtue as we'd all been about New Orleans making a comeback from Katrina. Yet it's now been through a Gulf Oil Spill nearly as severe as five years ago. So I'm thinking N.O. is a type of yet another disaster far larger yet, the loss of honor in American culture. And I recall that pledge we took as Scouts in days of my youth: On my honor I will do my duty to God and my country-- to do a good turn daily, to help other people at all times and to obey the Scout law: trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, brave, clean and reverent. A new kind of awareness that ANGELFIRE gained last year, IYA2009, was how vast is weather clear across the Universe. As I see it spread on my TV screen from continent to continent, and often in huge circular storms or hurricanes, I'm mindful of the galaxies galore just like that. They are inhabited too, not by people but stars, and then planets; just as the continents of Earth produce races, nations, tribes, and peoples.Stars are born inside of galaxies, and then often have planets as their offspring; as our father sun(Sol) has Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune and Uranus (and formerly Pluto). There are many double stars, called binaries) that have their sibling orbiting around them. Yet there is violent weather in the form of nebulae that may collide or pulsars that explode over and over. Or superstars expand into novas that radiate tremendous heat and light. After expansion into quasars, they may have inner stars to collapse into black holes, which is matter become so dense that their gravity won't even allow photons of light to escape. Thus most fully formed galaxies center on black holes. And they draw other matter from passing clouds of ionized gas, which form into arms that spiral out vastly extending their size. All this is a result of plasma, the new sort of matter discovered a decade or two ago. It's not based on molecules, atoms or electrons and protons. But it's quarks and glueons, an exotic substance that was closer to the Creator's hand. Thus ANGELFIRE see it as what angels are made of. A year ago I mentioned a theophany I'd experienced. 9-03-10 I watched President Obama's speech about a two state solution in the Mideast. Present with him were four other heads of state for Egypt, the king of Jordan, Presidents of Israel Netanyah, plus Abbas of the West Bank Palestinian Authority. Senator George Mitchell has been allotted a year to resolve conflicts and settle them with a two state solution. Mitchell became a world renown peace maker in winning peace for Ireland several years ago. So now he's got an even bigger assignment. Ever since the 1967 war when Israel defeated the Palestinian Liberation Organization, the Israeli military have occupied West Bank territory. Hamas is a terrorist group that formed down in Gaza to continue seeking the destruction of Israel as a state. Of course it gains support from Iran and other radical Muslim regions. But Abbas has presided democratically over the occupied West Bank state called Palestinian Authority or PA, where Israel keeps imposing restrictions with a Court Injunction of 1967. Yet Jewish citizens continue to build settlements over on the West Bank claiming that it's their divine right. And the State of Israel arranged a world Court injunction way back in '67 to limit more Palestinian settlements. So that's the situation Sen. Mitchell is facing right now. For the talks to continue, Abbas insists that the Injunction be lifted, along with ceasing any more Jewish settlements. Of course the Israeli goal was to get enough Jews living on the West Bank before Palestinian statehood so that they could have control at the polls. That's also being attempted in East Jerusalem. So Mahmoud Abbas may back out of the negotiations very soon. But he's under so much pressure to stick it out that the year of talks could really take place. The year ahead will make us all more aware of Israeli/Islamist issues (as if our war on terrorism were not enough to understand already). We who read the Bible find courage in our Lord's promise to return at the Last Day. ANGELFIRE thinks Christ's coming will show increasingly prominent signs as these talks continue. One given me in a dream early today is that name I'd heard to remember the seven colors of the rainbow, ROY G BIV (red, orange. yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet). The G is a sign of life on this planet. I'm so glad it's right in the middle. That name reminds us that "God is light and in Him is no darkness at all." LORD's DAY (online) starts another week in which we'll add a year more since 9/11. And it's been almost a decade ago, wow! With troops home from Iraq, we may think the war on terror ending. But the fatalities from suicide bombings keep happening around the world. If there's one notion surely satanic, it's that killing others not even enemies, along with yourself, can gain divine favor. ANGELFIRE now sees that suicide alone is forgivable, but including innocent fellow humans would leave no excuse at all. Such frequent conduct today is more evidence of how near we are to the end of time. Yet those 33 Chilean minersare trapped deep under ground are doing their best to stay alive, praise God. I just read where survivors of an airline crash years ago have visitied their site to offer encouragement. The visitor's story had been in a movie entitled ALIVE. So the will to live is indeed a God given instinct. Self preservation is called the first law of survival. And it ties in with the second great commandment Jesus gave, to love our neighbors AS OURSELF. With no value on self, there could be none to share. So when that's missing we have all these suicides taking place. And those visitors in Chili are calling on the miners to keep alive. I'm sure we've all prayed for them down there. ANGELFIRE saw a larger drill being provided to speed up the rescue. It could make a bigger hole too. So the months could be reduced in half if it works properly. Hallelujah. It's like the rescue from heaven that our Lord Jesus will bring by coming again (as he promised). His Super drill will utterly vanquish the devil. What folly is this so called "church of satan" we've read about, even here in OK. They'll be allowed to use a public center in OKC to meet for worship. Ugh. That's just showing us the closing chapters in Revelation, where the Beast rises up to gain a vast deluded following. The name Satan means adversary, so it's clear that he's our enemy as Christians. But he's the master of deception and many will be taken in as time runs out for mankind. Yet our prayer, is "Come Lord Jesus" or CLJ. JosephA AoP

ANGELFIRE 9-07-10 As the three of us that go to LARC for Sunday evening services were with all the inmates who came for chapel, one of them led th time to express prayer concerns as usual. But there was extra concern for those miners in Chili that are trapped a half mile underground. Details were mentioned that showed how they had listened to news (or read it). AS we prayed for the workers trying to rescue those 33, I thought of the age of our Lord Jesus when he was crucified. His sacrifice on the cross that awakens our sense of the Father's divine agape, is a deep response to One so young paying the price of atonement. I even sensed that it being half the number 66 (books in the Bible) meant Jesus was right in the midst of his human lifetime. So it says that he comes at the center of ours also, and we must be mindful of the hurts around us as well as our own (even ones abroad), All the Bible's books have their center in Jesus, who is the Living Word. So as we pray about our own problems, and those in our town too, let's not forget those men waiting for rescue, even if it's slow as Christmas in coming. ANGELFIRE sees the Lord's return in a similar way. We are trapped deep down in this unGodly world that's not going to bring us up. Yet we await heaven's team that is coming at last in power to free us from satan's bondage. And like those 33 gaining communication, we have prayer to stay in touch with the higher world that Christ will bring. With him will be all the holy angels and spirits of the righteous dead that are to regain their mortal bodies resurrected/ or changed from earthly to celestial ones, from mortal to immortal places for each spirit to inhabit. Body and spirit thus rejoined equals immortal soul. After all it's tribulation, this fallen world will pass away and satan with all his followers cast everlasting punishment. I've hinted that the exotic matter which astronomer Hugh Ross was excited about a decade ago, But ANGELFIRE has suggested the name it's being called, plasma, is angel stuff. That was so basic in WW II as what we learned to extract from blood and use for life saving transfusions. Blood plasma was the quintessence of human blood. Thus in this latter day it surely refers to something other than atoms, protons and electrons: rather angel stuff that we use that "plasma" name again to describe. . It's a far greater substance of our Universe than conventional matter which comes as solid, liquid or vapor (ice, water or steam). We see it in the Big Bang beginning billions of years ago, and again in formation since then of new galaxies or stars. And plasma connects everything by filimentation or through tubes, which allow an interflow of energy within stellar systems.   JosephA@webtv.net

ANGELFIRE 9-09-10 My Bible opened at Ez.36 this morning as I was considering the controversial county vote that will be on our Nov. ballet right out in the open. ANGELFIRE wants to commend our commissioners for declining that ten thousand dollar check because it would have allowed l-b-t-d to play it's quicker the wink game yet once more. If it wins at the polls open and above board, then so be it for sobriety. As a PV native born Okie, I've long opposed the liquor industry and it's push for place and prestige that also tolerates gambling, pornography and prostitution. The word on this bible from which I read is Recovery. And chap.36 is right before the Valley of Dry Bones vision Ezekiel had i.e. The power of the Lord as upon me and I was carried away by the Spirit ...to a valley full of old, dry bones that were scattered everywhere across the ground...then he said "Son of dust, can these bones become people again?" (Pauls Valley?) But from chap.36 I'd read "Then it will be as though I'd sprinkled clean water water on you, for you will be clean--your filthiness will be washed away, idol worship gone. And I will give you a new heart--I will give you new and right desires--and put a new spirit within you...And you shall live in Israel, the land which I gave our fathers long ago. And you shall be my people, and I will be your God. I will cleanse away your sins." As ANGELFIRE sees it, we can't wash them away with liquor that is more available, but only by turning again to the Lord God. If I mention our Historic Tower, some may quit reading, so I'll just note that it's still standing from 1903, when built. Though t sure shows signs of it's age, it's stood so long as a symbol of water, the best drink God ever gave to man. And God's heavenly water is also the universal agent of washing. So here's to HT, as we lift a glass of cold water for Garvin county. It represents the water of Life that Jesus offered to that woman at the well in Jn.4. I've just seen Pastor Terry Johes in FL saying that he will not burn a Quaran on Sat. which is the anniversary of 9/11. Instead he will fly to meet the Imam in NYC who has agreed not to built that mosque near ground zero. So if it works out to prevent conflict, praise the Lord Jesus who is our king of shalom (peace). I had been thinking how many Bibles might get burned is pastor Jones was to do his thing, and did not have good feeling toward him. Now he seems a heroic figure instead. We know that Bibles would likely be burned in response, and how offensive that would be (yet ANGELFIRE doesn't worship a book, so it could be forgiven with pity for those who do, even Muslim feelings toward their book), How near is our Lord's return when this sort of sign happens. Hallelujah ANGELFIRE 9-13-10 The history channel had a two hours straight documentary of 9/11 on Saturday night. It began with the first attack on those Twin Towers in NYC and kept a time line of things as they happened. Included was video they had found from a myriad of different sources. But the producer had merged it together into a colossal sickening coverage of the biggest disaster in American history. On the end was added a reinactment of Flight 11 by American Airlines with those five suicide terrorists aboard. I've always heard "eleventh hour" to describe looming danger. So the flight and day both were designated by that number as we recalled it on the 9th anniversary. It was nine-eleven to the full, yet including heroic police and firemen who bravely did their duty even at the cost of so many of their own lives. We were assured that by the tenth anniversary there would be a monument standing at ground zero. A decade later seems quite a delay, but I'm sure there are reasons. ANGELFIRE recalls that it was to be The Freedom Tower, 1776 feet tall. That would be a national shrine to cover ground zero just right. And it was begun begin very soon. As of now, there's a skyscraper going up across the river in New Jersey that will stand taller than the Empire State Building of NYC fame. I was just a tyke when that Empire State Bldg. was built. Seems it was begun in '33, and was a positive sign even during the great depression. T don't even recall when the Twin Towers came to be, but we all can remember their terrible collapse on that eleventh day of September, 2001. It was the work of part of those 19 terrorists that compare in my mind to the planes from Japan that hit Pearl Harbour way back n 1941. That began our part in WW II and 9/ll began the war on world wide terror that continues as our longest ever war.. The blessed hope of Bible believers is for our Lord's soon coming. ANGELFIRE 9-16-10 I see that the Iranian prime minister Mahmud Abudinnejad has claimed the resumed talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority are going nowhere. We know that Iran's radical regimen backs the Hamas radical Muslim government which has opposed the talks, so it's exactly what we'd expect to hear from Abudinnejad. Abbas is the elected leader of the PA and is really in a bind over Israeli settlements increasing on the West Bank, which he hopes to form into a state. Ever since the Israelis conquered it in that six day war of 1967, there have been Jewish settlers seeking to form their own towns there. But a settlement suspension was issued when the talks were going a few years ago, which is to expire at the end of this month. If that happens Abbas may just give up and the year of peace talks scheduled will collapse. So it's a touch and go situation right now. And with Iran so near to being a nuclear power, Israel could decide to hit them again as once before with an air strike. That would be like The Day the Earth Stood Still. We know Iran would retaliate strongly in some way. Perhaps they already have secret nukes. It's time to be prayerfully ready for cataclysm in the Mideast. In the Bible the word is Armageddon. Israel has the means of having the Bomb made overnight. And that would draw so many other nations in that it could finally be the forgotten terror, WW III. We write this at just past the middle of September. Maybe instead of being on our knees, we should do like the Muslims at their mosques i.e. fall on our faces. It's how Moses prayed to Yahweh GOD, and then as Joshua did in the same when he too fell on his face. Also Jesus in the Garden to the Father. Come Lord Jesus,   As I begin the 20th year of writing my column, I'm grateful to the Democrat for carrying it and never asking me to delete anything. LORD'S DAY A result of my epiphany during IYA2009 was to sense my porpose as AoP, which is for Apostle of Perusia. As I learned more about cosmology, the efforts of Dr.Hugh Ross several years ago seem more significant. He kept telling us about exotic matter first created. It's come to be known as plasma, the designation I recall from WW II for the basis of any type of blood. Thus it was emergency stuff that could be given anyone regardless of their type. Now I see it in the infant Universe as the basis of all types of objects that would come into existence from the Creator. So ANGELFIRE would not use the term of Hugh Ross, exotic matter. It was prior to matter as such. Exotic indeed, but fresh from the Creator's hand as angel stuff. Thus the angels were created first i.e. In the beginning God created the heaven... Then earth followed as matter formed from gravitational force. I see the four forces as archangels serving at the Word of YAHWEH: Gabriel, Michael, Lucifer and Raphiel. More on this later. ANGELFIRE 9-20-10 Have you noted that more and more women are into politics now?   Right here in OK we know already we will have a female governor come Nov.2. And in the Labor Day report of the number of working women, the count was higher than for men. So it figures that we should have more lady politicians than ever. And they are winning too, as in Delaware where Christine O'Donnell is getting so much publicity, along with other female Tea Party candidates.  Since Obama became our first black president, the next one might well be our first female Commander-in-Chief. I feel sure that Sarah Palin's interested, since she's having so much influence already in the Nov.2 race. I heard one politico say that O'Donnel was her clone. To ANGELFIRE that seemed true just in appearance. But the witch-craft associations may take her out. Even Dr.Karl Rove who coached GW so much during his presidency, has made such a judgement. So we'll just wait and see.   Another statistic that just caught my attention was about the suicide rate these days. It's far more men than women that kill themselves (five times more here). And that's true in almost every other country too. Sweden was the only exception, as I recall. That's where the females have taken charge and the men just stand back to keep out of their way. But one place that's totally male is down in that mine of Chili, where the 33 are awaiting rescue from half a mile deep. I keep hearing that faster drilling is now being used, so they may not have to wait until Christmas. Their Chilean president even came to pay them a visit a day or so ago. He went to the site and spoke by phone to them. Finally, ANGELFIRE's thinking of the flooding in Pakistan and great suffering it is causing. Have just read where 100,000 children are now facing starvation as a result. Would like to see the pope add that country too, after his journey around all of England. ANGELFIRE 9-23-10 I just got an email from a reader that tells about Jupiter being so close to earth again and about the big red spot on it getting attacked by red spot junior. Maybe it's a sign from above, as ANGELFIRE is waiting to hear what the Republicans will say in their Pledge to Americans in a few minutes. But as I wait I recall that summer was ended as fall began yesterday. And the oil leak is stopped for sure in the Gulf, and the recession is over by report of a not-for-prophet bureau of economic recoverys last week. Those would all make Jupiter easier to watch. But with the agenda clear, we can now watch the United Nations Assembly in NYC that got started the first day of fall. Our president went up from DC to deliver an address and he pushed hard for the peace talks in DC between Israelis and Palestinians. From Jupiter back down to Earth, that certainly is a leap of hope. In fact, just the big red spot already mentioned on that huge planet would swallow up our whole little Earth. Besides George Mitchell who is to moderate the talks, Tony Blair will represent the Quartell, UK, EU, RF and US. That is not a music group, but four economic groups which are closely tied to the Mideast: United Kingdom, European Union, Russian Federation and United States. Yet the whole effert could fail at the end of this month when Israeli settlers on the West Bank could restart their many efforts to colonize places they have owned since that Six Day War back in 1967. If the talks collapse, Iran's going to become a far greater danger. So it's time for earthlings to be watchful and Bible believers to look for the Savior who promised to return at last. CLJ

ANGELFIRE 9-27-10 Yesterday was Sunday and in Israel the self-imposed halt of Jewish settlements on the West Bank expired. We saw TV of the work restarted after that 13 month ban expired. President Mahmoud Abbas had demanded it be extended if he was to participate for the year of peace talks set up over here. It looks now like he's stuck in a very hard place. How can he avoid blame for their failure if he withdraws. One commentator said the he'll be stuck with the dead cat. ANGELFIRE takes that to mean that it died in his care, so Abbas bears the blame. Maybe that figure of speech will actualize as we approach Halloween. It's observance always entails cats you see. And it's become America's biggest holiday of spending, not just for goodies but even more for costumes. Seems the moms and pops today want to join their kids in wearing costumes and going out for trick-or-treat. One writer said it was an adult's chance to escape from their everyday self--usually to become more powerful entities (often evil ones). That triggers in my mind the reality of Satan. His very name means adversary. And he's far more real than a spooky holiday. If we read the world news perceptively, we see his cunning and clever deception at work between nations and peoples. And the devil's crafty design is to engender hate.   In fact "devil" means accuser. So he spreads secret lies and suspicions.   And he not only allows, but fosters worldly behavior through his servants who emulate him. Satan wasn't created as such by God, but fell from his angelic state that he held to begin with. In Luke 10:18 Jesus says "I saw Satan fall like lightning/" Now falling makes me think of gravity. and going downward instead of up. The word gravity hit's it's very bottom as the word "grave." So much like greed. it's basic even in natural process, swallowing all else into self. Never giving out but pulling into self what's near. Cosmology calls it "the weak force" because it fades with distance. Of course the Almighty has turned that power into His intelligent design for the Universe. Just read the book of Job, how the devil serves divine purposes. But when gravity originated within the heaven of angels which God had first made, it gave Satan his opportunity to rebel and become the second of four cosmic forces. Thus humans are born ever since back in the Garden of Eden, with an innate gravity or self above all else. It's power's essential to the formation of matter, and we mortals are basically material beings. It's our fallen state before being reborn through the Lord Jesus Christ. ANGELFIRE 10-1-10 When mention was made of Jupiter a week ago, it was because the biggest planet is so near to Earth. But it's name was chosen by Gallileo some 400 years ago from the Roman gods. I suppose the great scientist-statesman of Italy still felt some pride in his Roman legacy as he named it the big daddy of all the planets just as Jupiter had been the father god of all for the Romans. It also has more moons. Fourteen are found found so far with one as big as Earth. So take a look just after sundown in the southeastern sky, from where it will keep rising all night. Another planet's just been found at a neighboring star named Gliese (or 581 G). So far, they've called it the Goldilox planet since it could support life, though it's three times the size of Earth. It's orbits star 581 G, which is a red dwarf star giving off less heat. Steven Vogt and Derrick Pitts are the astronomers involved, a whte and a black scientist. I mention that because 581 G is white hot on one side and black cold on the other because it's orbit just matches the rate of rotation, with the same side always facing it's sun. Life if there would have to be along the edge between sides where temperature is moderate. ANGELFIRE sees symmetry as a sign of divine direction in creation. But down here on Earth there are also false prophets who are signs of satan. Just last week we heard of that Bishop Eddie Long down at Atlanta who may be one. He as the biggest black church in America, It's Missionary Baptist, so his being a "bishop" raised doubts to me. And some four men have made the pedafile accusations that he adroitly denied Sunday from his pulpit. The huge congregation went into tears and cheers for him, but it ain't over yet. And now an OKC pastor of Fairview Baptist had endorsed one of the lady candidates for governor from his pulpit, which violates that privileged platform. Not nearly as ugly no likely to get national attention. But also sort of like that Goldilox planet, full of hope but disappointingly double sided (the way Satan creeps in as in Revelation). ANGELFIRE 10-05-10 We've heard that even Las Vegas is being hit hard by the recession because game players are short of money too. The vast new image that place has tried to create with that new center recently built downtown isn't working. Funds for it were made by the tiny Mideast nation of Dubye, as well as another very costly complex to draw business. Yet the city is loosing money these days, partially because on online gambling. It doesn't require the expensive trip and reservations to be there. So it cut's in badly on Vegas business, unless federal regulations are imposed t prohibit such use of the Internet. Also, there's another "sin city" in America back East that is trying to draw this nation's gamblers instead of Vegas. Can't recall it's name, but I do remember when New Orleans was known as sin City back during WW II. I was stationed at Gulfport MS and took the train over to see all that glitz and glamor when off on liberty.   But it didn't excite me, and the decline of Las Vegas causes no tears here. ANGELFIRE thinks five words given us for an election in Garvin county four years ago, "Dollars Don't Dictate Decisions of Destiny." To me it means our money isn't the ultimate issue, though it is very strong. Right now the main movie is entitled "Money Never Sleeps."   It even sounds a little spooky to me, suggesting something all powerful, even Almighty. Yet when I pray, I'm in touch with the power that is far greater. Those five D's recall for me the 5th book in the Bible, Deuteronomy. It's name means "second law" which Moses gave to the Twelve Tribes just before they crossed into the Promised Land. In De.5 he repeats the Ten Commandments first given in Ex.20. So five, the number on each hand, is a fundamental count in Scripture. Even the N.T. begins with 4 Gospels plus a Gospel of the Holy Spirit (the book of Acts) Then in Deut. 6 Moses says "Now this is the commandment, and these are the statutes and judgements which the LORD your God has commanded to teach you, that you may observe them in the land which you are crossing over to possess."   Thus, it is called "second law" or Deuteronomy.   And they built no shrines in the land to Chance or Liquor as false gods that might lead them. They stuck with what was written down by their holy scribes, and that's why it's called Scripture.
