Dave's Photos of Guam

This page is still under construction.

I've been to Guam 5 times, 2 on USAF C-141 cargo planes, and 3 times on commercial aircraft. So far, on Guam I've been a bartender, gotten married, and went through a USAR Primary Leadership Development Course. Click on a thumbnail to see a larger photo.

A fisherman in Tumon Bay. My college classmate Cecelia Blaney with her new baby in 1996. The "bubble" hot tub at the Pacific Star Hotel.

Dave on a PLDC field exercise. A USAR humvee with two of my fellow students. The evening meal was prepared by the Naval Station galley.

Flowers near the village of Umatac, on the southern part of the island. A cemetary near Merizo, on the southern part of the island. Orote Point on Naval Station Guam.

A 17th century Spanish bridge in the jungle at Sella Bay. A coconut at Sella Bay. One of my Japanese students enroute to Sella Bay.

An artist's conception of how the bridge may have looked with a Chamorro village next to it.

Wanna buy a tuba? Swimming in a cool pool. From Orote Point.

Boonystomping in Guam

Although Guam is a relatively small island, there are still plenty of opportunities for boonystomping (hiking). The southern part of the island is especially nice, in the territorial nature park. On our honeymoon, we hiked down from the highway to Sella Bay, a beautiful unspoiled bay that has a bridge built by the Spanish in the 1700's. Here are a few photos of our hiking trips.

Sella Bay from the highway. We waded down a stream to the beach. Our campsite at Sella Bay.

The Spanish bridge. One of the Sella Bay crabs. Yukari wading the stream.
