NAILPOLISH BRANDS

NAIL SAVVY
price: about $2.00, color selection : Nail Savvy has a regular line of pinks , purples and browns . They also have seasonal lines that are more trendy, but those don't last forever so don't wait too long if you see a color you like. The nail polish tends to be thick, so it peels off easily. Available at Sally Beauty Supply.
COVER GIRL
price: $1.99, color selection : Cover Girl is mostly pinks and reds with some whites and purples. Sometimes they come out with some other colors but they go fast. These nail polishes have a built in top coat which is convenient if you are on the go. Available at most drug stores.
HARD CANDY
price: $12, color selection : C'est merveilleux! (It's marvelous!) I mean, if you need a color, they have it. Everything from your basic pastel pink (Bubble Gum), to a pastel icy-blue metallic (Frigid). Although they are a little on the pricy side (you could buy 12 Wet ‘n’ Wilds for the price of one Hard Candy ), if you find a color that is just totally unique then I would get it. Available at Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s , Neiman Marcus, Marshal Field’s, Jacobson’s, Dayton’s, Hudson’s, Saks Fifth Avenue, Dilliards, Liberty House, Burdines, Fred Segal, and Macy’s or call (310)289-7767.
URBAN DECAY
price: $11, color selection : VERY good, although not as complete as Hard Candy’s. All the colors are metallic, and there are no pinks (their slogan is "Does Pink Make You Puke?"). Colors range from Road Stripe (icy white with a blue sheen) to Asphalt (textured black). They come in an industrial-strength medicine bottle. Urban Decay’s formulas are rich, yet toluene and formaldehyde free. Available in fine department stores (usually the same stores that carry Hard Candy).
TOWNLEY COSMETICS DIST.
price : about $3, color selection : This is the way to go if you CAN NOT live without that funky metallic purple and don’t want to pay for Hard Candy’s ‘Pimp’. There are a lot of sparkly things out right now I have noticed, and also, watch for discount bins where they put nail polish that the store no longer has room for. Available at clothing stores like The Closet and Vanity, and accessory shops like Claire’s.
REVLON STREET WEAR
price : about $5, color selection : These colors are really trendy and because of that they are REALLY hard to find because they are snatched up so fast. I really like their colors and I think that they are worth the semi-expensive price. Available at drug stores that decide to carry the display.
REVLON
price : about $4.00, color selection : Mostly reds, pinks and whites, although you can sometimes find a diamond in the rough. Check out their silvery whites, purples and golds. Available at drug stores.
AVON
price : $3.25 unless on special, color selection : Avon has some pretty cool nail polish colors, and they just recently came out with six new trendy shades. (Green, yellow, lilac, blue, pink and peach. They are all pastel.) There are a lot of pinks, browns, purples and reds. Available through Avon.
COLOR DROPS
price: $4.50, color selection: very good! These colors are really cool and to top it off they come with a cute little charm around the handle of the bottle! They tend to be a little thin, so you may have to put on more than one coat. These nail polishes are available at Bath and Body Works stores.
WET ‘N’ WILD
price: $.99 to $1.50, color selection : This brand is the way to go for the hopelessly broke, for that color that you will only use once, or for making your own color. Who can beat the price! Available at drug stores everywhere.
CF
price: $1.99, color selection : Mostly pinks and reds from what I have seen. This brand is kind of imitation department store stuff. "If you like Chanel, Christian Dior, and MAC, then you will LOVE CF nailpolish and lipstick" Available at drugstores.
ORLY
price : about $3.50, color selection : getting better! Orly is coming out with tons of new colors like blues, silvers, greens, etc. Some are sheer and others are not. Available at drug stores and salons.
