And here are my cats, Callie and Zimi (pronounced Zee-mee). Callie adopted me in 1992, and I adopted Zimi in 1996 to keep Callie company. Both are spayed females. Callie is now on a diet, due to asthma. She was up to 17 pounds, and I had to constantly endure "football" jokes from my brother! (Humph.) She's now under 15 pounds and looking skinnier than she has in a while, and still on the diet. Zimi is a little terror–she's very vocal about what she wants.

In December 1994 I became sober. That (well, actually, being in recovery) is the best thing that's ever happened to me. For those of you who want to know more about recovery in general or my recovery specifically, I've included a link to yet another page, which tells some of my story and has links to several AA sites.

In July 1997 I acquired CFIDS (Chronic Fatigue and Immune Dysfunction Syndrome). It's impacted my life tremendously and is not fun. Before that, I was a technical writer–I wrote computer user manuals. (I almost hesitate to admit that since most manuals are useless! But most of you probably never saw what I did anyway, unless you worked in a blood bank or pathology lab, and I was told I was good.) After getting CFIDS, I became mostly home-bound (at least not bedridden!). I'm currently able to do data entry for 3 hours a week. Having to use my mind causes me to get fatigued very quickly. To fill my time, I do needlework (counted cross-stitch), I read a lot, and I play computer games. The books I read are 98% fiction; mostly thrillers (not horror) and historical fiction, and some fantasy/science fiction. My favorite games are role-playing/adventure. Though my absolute favorites so far are Warcraft, Lords of the Realm, and Betrayal in Antara. When I get around to it, I'll include some links to game and hint pages (one is awesome and others are actually helpful!).
