SummerSlam 2007 Results!

Will Icehouse finally reach the top?

SummerSlam 2007 was a huge night for many Non-Scorers. With every title on the line, and every Non-Scorer in the hunt for at least one title, things looked to be in the favor of the NSC members. For some, this PPV will be forever remembered as their first ever WWE gold, and for others, it will be another opportunity lost, and an agonizing evening to contemplate what could have been.

The Non-Scorers kicked off SummerSlam 2007 with Infinite Sexy and Icehouse entering a 6-man elimination match. This was everyone's last opportunity to earn some "cards" for the huge main event. Sadly, neither Non-Scorer fared well, as Infinite Sexy was eliminated first, followed quickly by Icehouse. The Rock ended up winning the match.

"Bad" Brad was next to challenge for WWE gold, as he took on Abyss and Big Show for the European Title. Brad was double teamed for most of the match, and had only one chance to snatch a victory over his opponents. But Big Show recovered in time and ended Brad's comeback. This display netted Big Show with the European Championship.

The Corporate Bastards (Lump and The Duncan; Justin and Mike respectively) had never won a title of any kind in the WWE. This would be their night to shine, as they dismantled the Legion of Doom and T & A in a triple threat hardcore match. Each of these wrestlers also had a chance for a singles title later on. Would they come home with twice as much gold?

After several more matches, J-Lord and Du-Mee took center stage for the Hardcore Title match. In this time limit match, the competitor that held the title when time expired was allowed to keep the title. J-Lord took control of the title with a minute left, and held off a furious attack from both Rhyno and Ric Flair to win his 2nd Hardcore Title of his career. Du-Mee was ineffective and never sniffed a serious chance at the title.

The Duncan was back in action next, as he entered a steel cage against Umaga and InterContinental Champion, Kane. The Duncan was quick to act, but in his overzealousness, he allowed Kane to escape while he was distracted with Umaga. The Duncan would have to settle for tag team gold only out of this PPV.

Fat Lump was next in line for a singles title, as he battled 3 others in a table match for the Million Dollar Title. To the surprise of everyone, Sean O'Haire snuck a victory against former champion Jeff Jarrett, and took home the title. Lump, too, would have to settle for only one championship this night.

In one of the most anticipated matches of the entire PPV, De-Evolution (Infinite Sexy and J-Lord) would have to battle rivals D-X, as well as Du-Mee and "Bad" Brad in a ladder match for their recently lost World Tag Team Titles. Two months ago, Brad and Du-Mee had conspired with a referee to steal the gold from De-Evolution, but the titles were declared vacated until a winner tonight could decide the champions. Despite a series of close calls, De-Evolution emerged victorious once again, claiming the World Tag Team Titles for the 9th time.

And finally, in a match that had been building since Infinite Sexy won the World Heavyweight Title at Wrestlemania, six men entered the Elimination Chamber to battle for this championship. Due to the luck of the draw, decided by "cards" won from the previous 3 months, Triple H and Icehouse started out this monumental battle.

Triple H battered around Icehouse, landing pedigree after pedigree, but Icehouse refused to give up. The odds went even further against Icehouse, as the powerhouse Goldberg entered the ring next. Icehouse did his best to stay out of harms way as the two titans battled in the chamber, and he survived until Bobby Lashley enter next. Sadly, Triple H finished what he started, as he ambushed Icehouse while Icehouse was dealing with Lashley, and scored the pin on the Beacon from Bellingham.

Infinite Sexy entered the match after that, and attempted to keep away from the action. But the action found the champion, with Triple H landing blow after blow. Infinite Sexy stood firm however, as the final competitor, the one that had the most cards and with the luck of the draw with him, entered the contest. The Rock had been victorious in many matches leading up to the PPV, and he had the advantage of coming in last this night as well.

This would turn to be quite the advantage after all, as Lashley fell before Infinite Sexy's might. Next, Infinite Sexy turned his attention to Triple H. Infinite Sexy repaid Triple H for eliminating him earlier in the evening and watched with great interest as The Rock and Goldberg battled within the chamber. With some help from Infinite Sexy, The Rock was able to eliminate the highest rated superstar on the roster, and Goldberg was eliminated. This left the two men with the most "cards" entering the match.

Infinite Sexy struck first, quickly hitting an F-5 on the challenger. The Rock wasn't ready give up just yet, and mounted an impressive comeback. He finished the barrage with a powerful Rock Bottom that left the champion reeling. Infinite Sexy wasn't ready to give up just yet, either, and the champion kicked out of the pin attempt. Another few moments of back and forth action would occur before the champion again set up The Rock for another F-5. The challenger was unable to counter the move, and Infinite Sexy scored the pinfall.

Infinite Sexy retained his World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam 2007. It was only his 3rd title defense in the past 4 months since winning the title at Wrestlemania. Vince McMahon made an announcement as the PPV closed that he was disgusted with the puny attempts put out by the competitors in the final match, and vowed to do whatever it would take to get the title out of Infinite Sexy's hands...
