Here is what going on: Drew is going to be attending the Berkeley school of music in Boston for about a year. In the meantime Brandon and I (mike) have recently peiced together a PA (powered amp) for vocals and are working with another guitarist on a side project and will be naming the band soon. We don't know exactly what will happen after that. So far we have learned some cover songs and we will be getting our PA within the next week or so. Keep checking back to find out more and a possible website for the side band. When Drew returns we'll decide what Red Tide is going to do. Later, Red Tide

We did the fair in Tillamook but regretfully to say we have no photos to add to a pix page. SorrY!! Soon we'll have some vid snapshots to add but have to get a copy of the video from Drew. Thank you all who showed up to our show and we hope you loved all the free stuff and thanks to MP3.com for hooking us up with the free loot to give out. Thanks Erik from MP3.com!!! Check in soon. OK!!! Brandon and I went with some friends to "Big Stink 5" at the Portland meadows in Portland , Oregon and moshed to Jimmies Chicken Shack, 3 Doors Down, Papa Roach and DEFTONES!!! I (mike) actually crowd surfed towards Chino (if you don't know who he is he is the lead singer/screamer of Deftones) and I got to shake his hand. Best of all I snuck a camera in and got all kinds of pix. I got pix of all the above bands. I wanted pix of 8 Stop 7 and MXPX & Kottonmouth Kings but they were on stage B and the sun was in our eyes and the pix wouldn't have turned out. I am exstatic about the ones I did get. I am going to build a link page to them pix after I get them up. You'll love em. We were up close for the Deftones pix and pretty close for the others. The Mosh Pit was a half ass pit but I am sure I lost a few pounds of sweat. If you didn't make it you really missed a great line up. It was a great show and I hope to go next year. We played Stephanies 21st b-day party and it was a success. HappY B-daY StePh!! A band called "The Surge Milkers" opened up for us and I got on the mic and sang Deftones: Bored from the Adrenaline 1995 Maverick Recording cd. It sounded good. The guys are a young band and have moocha potential. I liked them alot. They may be down to open the 2 shows we MIGHT be doing at Goodspeed park in Aug. Check our shows page to find out more. They are pending at this time due to Drew traveling across country.
We played for nearly 2 hrs. and it was all worth it in the heat of Gresham. Please check back. I'll be updating this in the next couple days. OuTta dUh WaY...I's MoVin' 'n' GrOOviN;)

We were offered to play at "Moonlight Madness 2000" on the 4th of Aug. at 8:00 on 2nd Street out on the actual street.
We are going to do it and have fun and get a couple of bux to do it and great publicity. Check out the shows page to see what's up and email us if you have Q's cause we most likely have A's.
Also Drew is moving back to Tillamook for a while and we'll be jamming locally alot more now since we'll be so close. We are able to play at the drop of a dime now as it is with him in Gresham but when he gets back here it will be even easier. All stickers are in and are ready for purchase!! This email was sent to us yesterday from a local and apparent fan of Red Tide: "I heard you peform "Livin' La Vida Loca" and I had to look and hear twice, I thought it was Ricky Martin himself singing!" and went on to say: "I wanted to hear more!" Thanks Hightide we appreciate the compliment. Though we don't usually cover Top 40 that was one exception. OK we are doing shows soon and are still deciding what to do after summer. Well yesterday was the 2nd birthday of our website. We have been a band now on the 8th of July for 5 years. It has been a blast. We have been thru alot together and still came out smiling and playing great together. We rehearsed today in Bay City a the soon to be Bay City Art Center and we sounded great. We worked on Lit, Oleander, The Beatles, and a couple of our songs and then we ended the session with some pix on the vid cam Red Tide styleee. Well we are going to do more practicing tomorrow and then take a couple weeks off (I'm going to be gone this next weekend) and then work on some more stuff the 3rd weekend in July. We may be doing a show the last weekend in July so keep your ears peeled. By the way we are still waiting for our stickers to get here. Be patient we are trying to be, too. Ok!! We jammed hard this weekend. First on sunday and then again today for a couple hours each day. We worked on a new song tentatively titled "Your game". This is Brandons new song and it kicks ass. We discussed future plans and are planning on recording a demo in the next few weeks and then at the fair this year we'll be throwing only a couple of them out to the audience. A few new songs and some jabberjawing will be on this free-throw cd. This is not our new cd. Only a sample that a few lucky fans will catch (10 total)!! We are discussing future plans as far as what to do next. We are in no hurry but would like to pick up a PA or do a new cd. Stay tuned for more info on these issues. Alright we will be planning a couple shows for this month and next month. Right now we are waiting on news of whether we made the line-up for Vans Warped Tour and also for NXNW. Hello all and sorry for the space between entries. We've been unpacking and working and playing. Red Tide is practicing June 18, 2000 at my place in our garage. Yep on Fathers Day and it will be fun. Not much new going on here. Just got moved in to our new house and hooked back onto the net. We have a BIG garage and lots of room to house Red Tide in. The neighbors are great and don't mind us playing. Still waiting for our stickers and hope they get here real soon. Well I'll be back soon.

Ok!!! We are going to be doing some wedding receptions and last night I got a phone call confirming a solid deal. We are performing at the Slater & Nixon reception on Oct. 21, 2000 in Tillamook. This is not a public show unless they address that with an announcement so don't just drop in. Don't crash this working family's reception out of respect to the bride and groom please and thanx. Congratulate them if/when you see them. Still no stickers. Am getting frustrated but not too bad. Picked up the Papa Roach cd and it is pretty good if you are into rap-metal. I dig it. Still diggin' my Incubus cd. We aill be doing a show or two with some local bands. One band is The Gun Star Hero's from Tillamook. There are a couple others but n/a at this time. This will be posted and announced county wide. That is all until next time - Support local music!!

Hello everybody!! Check these guys out if you get some time and tell 'em Red Tide sent ya: GrInDsToNe. They are a great Portland rock band. I think they are the best up there. Just letting you know that I dropped off a promo packet today at The Landing. It is a bar in Bay City, Oregon. I also dropped off a promo packet 2 weeks ago at another bar in Rockaway Beach, Oregon called Our Place. If you are in the area, please visit either one. They are good places to just hang out and make new friends and have a couple cold ones or some mixed drinks. Our Place is a little more like a club than a bar/tavern. The Landing is a neat place and is more barlike. Hopefully we'll get gigs at both of them. Ok. Also wanted to let anyone know that cares: The new Incubus cd Make Yourself kicks big time butt. I have been listening to it non--stop for the past 4 weeks and I know it has been out for a while but just got it. (I bought it for Pardon Me and just got hooked on the whole cd!!) This is one that I just can't stop listening to. This is Mike by the way for those wondering. I will be doing most of, if not all, the entries into this News section for Red Tide (since I run this site). Another really good cd is 3 Doors Down. The Kryptonite song is cool but there are better on that cd. The Incubus cd is the same way. I really urge everyone to go out and get the Make Yourself cd by Incubus. You will not regret it. Still awaiting our stickers. They should be here this coming week. I have been writing songs using my old clunky accoustic guitar (it works though) and writing lyrics and have come up with some really good stuff. It is different than those on our 14 track cd Beautiful Disaster. Check it out by ordering it. One last thing...I picked up the new Pantera cd Reinventing the Steel when it came out and also really dig this cd as well as any of their past cd's. For now.....Ciao baby

There is no shipping charge for stickers. Our friend Kurt Liebert who leads the band Bicycle has just went on tour and they are bicycling again. No tour bus or anything just bikes and roadies. Please visit their site and give them some support. Tell 'em Red Tide sent you. Watch for them in your area.
