A Word from the owners:
We are pleased to share our summer home in Orillia to students attending Georgian College throughout the year. Our primary use of the property is a summer home, during which time we have been working on renovations and upgrades, while also enjoying vacation time in Orillia and the surrounding area.
We have been fortunate over the last 4 years to have serious, responsible students staying at our place and we look for students that will respect and enjoy the house. The building consists of over 3500 sq. ft.with 3 levels, 8 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. We prefer to limit the number of students to 6. The main floor has 10 ft. ceilings and includes a bedroom with an ensuite bathroom, a kitchen with an eating area, a covered porch with a new deck surface, a dining room and a very large living room. The kitchen includes a dishwasher, microwave, range, 2 refrigerators, a freezer and washer and dryer. The second level has 6 bedrooms and a bathroom and the loft has a bathroom and a small kitchen area.
Most of the house is hardwood flooring and each bedroom includes cable TV, highspeed internet, and almost all of the rooms have a phone jack as well. The cost of rental covers all utilities including a phone line with unlimited long distance to anywhere in Ontario, Rogers highspeed internet, hydro, water and heating. The house is equipped with a 1996 high efficiency gas furnace and 2 hot water tanks. If a student wants their own private line they are responsible for that, however it is probably easier and cheaper to use a cell phone.
The house is situated in the old section of town at 110 Matchedash St. North, 2 blocks from Chingcoussy Park and the waterfront. There is a modern grocery store 1 block away and you are only 2 blocks from the main street and the YMCA. The driveway will accommodate 5 vehicles, but the bus route to the college is only a 5 min. walk.
We require a commitment to 8 consecutive months of rent at a cost of $515 per month. We have had many students take the property for 4 months in the fall and then return in the summer. We would request then that those students would commit to 12 months rental, but they would be free to sublet their room for the 4 months that they were absent.
We like to advertise this place for serious students that will respect the need to allow other inhabitants an environment that is suitable for serious studying time. Smoking is outside and please no pets.
