Max (Default Name) is the leader and main character of Shining Force. If he dies in battle, you automatically lose half your gold and are returned to town. He is strong in his own right. Just keep his level with the rest of the force and he'll be fine.

Promoted at level 10: 8/10
Promoted at level 20: 8.5/10

Strengths: Good HP and attack power with a good sword.

Weaknesses: Before promotion, Max's defense and speed are bad. After promotion around level lv 20, Max's speed is horrible.

Overall: Max's stats are very well-rounded. His attack power is the best in the force once you get the Chaos Breaker. Other than that, he is a good strong fighter.
