INDUSTRIAL FIRE PREVENTION
This course reviews the chemistry of fire, discusses how fires can start,
and aids in devising plans for fire prevention. General maintenance,
good house keeping, static electricity, spontaneous combustion, and other
causes of fires in the work place are covered in detail.
FIRE EXTINGUISHERS
This program covers the "Fire Tetrahedron" (the four elements necessary
for a fire to occur), the 4 types of fires, and how to distinguish the
different types of fires. The proper use of portable fire extinguishers
and their composition (ie. pressurized water, foam, halon, carbon dioxide,
and dry powder) and their specific roles in combating fires in the work
place are discussed in detail.
