Home Can't Be Here

Andrea Heins

Memories scratch angry lines in the shards of [what was] my contentment
It hurts to recall
Sourceless footsteps echo here, loneliness is coming for me
Why did I return?

These walls are calling, "home"
But I know my home can't be here
Cuz where are my friends?
Where is my family?
We all left this place some time ago

All of the things I can see in the eye of my memory
Oppose this hollow truth
No matter how oft I come those times can not return here with me
Empty rooms mock me

These walls are calling, "home"
But I know my home can't be here
Cuz where are my friends?
Where is my family?
We all left this place some time ago

Take me home...
