  • Que1 - When I perform routine file cleaning of my computer I continually find small TMP files linked to C:\ProgramFiles\ICQ\AteBrowser. What are they and can they be deleted?

arrow Que1: Version[s]: 2002 / 2003

The files in question are ad files downloaded automatically each time you choose to use one of the features of ICQ that feature ads. Those ad images are then cached in the AteBrowser folder as TMP files. You can find those files by opening Windows Explore and navigating to:
C:\Program Files\ICQ\AteBrowser\xxxxxxx\cache
where xxxxxxx is your ICQ UIN number.
These files can be safely deleted without affecting the operation of the ICQ program.

arrow Que2: Version[s]: 2002 / 2003

Yes. Each succesive upgrade moves your database files to a new folder named for your current version of ICQ. Older version folders are not necessary to the normal function of the ICQ program.
