History of the Bardryn's

I went "to the dogs" early in 1997. I had met my friend's big, goofy Old English Sheepdog and I knew I had to have one. Never having a dog before, I began researching the breed and talking my dad into letting me have a dog. He finally gave in and we went and look at two Old English Sheepdog puppies. :) One little fuzzball, came bounding out the door, and with just one look, I was hooked. She came home with our family a couple hours later. :)

That Old English Sheepdog, is Shufflebear's Maggie Mae HC. Maggie Mae was my very first dog and she taught me a lot. We tried out lots of things together, Junior Handling, Obedience, and Herding, but she was happiest being a pet. So, I went on a quest to find my own show dog and was introduced to Bearded Collies by Kelly Canham (Cameron Perm. Reg'd) and it all went from there.

My end result in being introduced to Beardies was Autumnlane's Welsh Lore - Griffin. He's my Beardie boy whirlwind that can be seen most of our pages. He's pictured here with me (ugh!). We are both having awesome hair days. My kennel name, "Bardryn" was derived from his registered name. Barddrinn (shortened to Bardryn) means lore in Welsh. Celebrating his Welsh background and my own. I do not breed at this time, but I hope to somewhere down the road when I get my wish of a blue Beardie girl. If you are looking for a puppy, please e-mail me and I will refer you to our breed clubs' Puppy Referral people.

I've been showing for almost 4 years now. I have had 6 Best Junior Handlers in my career, and being my last year in Junior Handling, I'm hoping to add a few more to my collection. I was also Top Junior Handler in Central Ontario for 1999.

Thanks for visting our page! Don't forget to sign the guestbook. :)
