Nichole Brisebois, otherwise known as Lusiphur, is 16
years old, and a Swara. Her nickname comes from from a
comic book called Poison Elves, in which the main
character, whom her friends say she looks like, is a
dark-haired, blue-eyed elf of short stature (he's only 5'6") that has
several psychological problems. Nickie has her share of
those as well.
A while back she was being paid $10 000 to
stay with a man named Claw, but he has recently disappeared, so she collected and left.
He treated her very well, clothing her,
feeding her, and acting very much like the father she
never had. Luse has recently discovered that she is a
Bastet (meaning she is a were-cat) during a
confrontation with a young boy who threatened both her
and Claw's life.
She never knew her parents
well, her mother left when she was 2 and her father died in an automobile accident when she was
only 6 years old. Luse didn't like the orphanage in
which she was placed, and so she ran away a while after
her 12th birthday.
Living on the streets, she was beaten
often and once she was nabbed off a street corner. Her
captors tortured and beat her as they pleased. Why
exactly they did this, no one is sure. They then drove
out to an empty field in the countryside and left her
there, battered, bruised, and near death.
Luse managed
to get to the farmhouse on the edge of the field where
the kind people living there helped her and treated her injuries. She
is very grateful to them, but now she is very untrusting
of almost any other people.
