A Night Remember

Note: This story was inspired and based on the song A Night to Remember by SHeDAISY. Kristyn Osborn, Jason Deere & Bob Farrell wrote the song this story is based on. I am in no way associated with the writers of the actual song or SHeDAISY. I’ll try to put this nicely, but DON”T YOU DARE COPY THIS STORY. It came right out of my brain and imagination, and it is definitely mine. And please don’t complain to me telling me I copied SHeDAISY’s song, because I didn’t. I just twisted a really cool song from them into a CATS fanfic. And I’m not selling it or anything; it’s just for enjoyment. And I hope you like it.

“Alright class!” Jennyanydots yelled. She was the cats’ English teacher this year. “You all need to right a short story. It does not matter how long, just not too long. It can be about anyone, anything, as long is it’s not gory {Many cats sigh at this point}. Understood?” They all nodded carelessly. “It’s due in three days. That’s more than enough time.” Then the bell rang and everyone ran out.
“Why do teachers always say that?” Matty pondered aloud, as she and her friends trotted down to their lockers. “Why do always say ‘that’s more than enough time’? Obviously, if you hand it in late it wasn’t more than enough time.”
“I don’t care this time, because—“
“Pouncival! You don’t care that we have a long-term assignment to do? What’s wrong with you?” Travie pretended to be flustered.
“No, because I already have a cool idea. And it’s not bloody or anything like that. And I’m getting started on it right away.”
“That means you won’t be meeting with us at the Tailz Bar tonight at 7:30?” James whimpered.
“I just might make it,” Pouncival said. Clifford ran up to them.
“Hi guys,” she said with a sad face.
“Problem?” Matty asked.
“Yeah. I hate my new school. I don’t have any friends there and I don’t want any new ones. I mean, I have Chewie of course, but I miss you guys.”
“Don’t worry Cliff. We’ll have somethin’ done abou that,” Tumble said surely.
When Pouncival got home, he sat down on the porch next to the rotting rubber tree plant. And there he began his story.

A Night to Remember
By Pouncival
Tonight was the night Bombalurina was celebrating their seventh aniversary with her husband, Alonzo. It had been seven years since they got married. As she put on some red lipstick and a short blue skirt she remembered when he promised her that he’d have her forever in his heart and soul. She promised she’s be with his until death to did them part She couldn’t help but smile. She knew that that night would be a night to remember.
Alonzo came home from work and picked her up and she suggested they go to the top of the canyon, it had a beautiful sight. “Okay dear. If that it what you want,” he agreed.
“I do,” she said solidly.
They walked to the top of the canyon and ate a dinner of fresh salmon and and sardines.
But as Alonzo looked into her eyes, something seemed peculiar. Her mind seemed to be somewhere else. Her deep verdant eyes had a distance.
“Are you having a good time honey?” Bomby asked. Alonzo nodded, but noticed her voice seemed cold. They hadn’t said much this night. As he drank some of his milk, he wondered, Could she know?
But hidden inside her purse were letters from his lover—but not her. She remembered finding them under the bed, but the signature was someone else’s name.
“Do you remember the night we were married and all?” Bomby asked as her heart started to beat faster.
“Yes, of course,” Alonzo replied. “I vowed we’d stay together, I’ll have and hold you in my heart and soul and all, and I will.” “This is nice,” Alonzo said, in some other world. “I know,” she whispered desperately in his ear.” “Huh?”
“I know your secret..” And with that, she grabbed his paw hard and pulled him over the edge, and together they plunged to the earth below. No doubt, that would always be a night to remember.

Poncival put his pencil down and headed to the Tailz Bar. “Hi guys!”
“SURPRISE!” baloons flew everywhere. Electra (who he was currently dating) walked up to him.
“You remembered!”
“I could we not?” Matty joked. Electra got up close to them.
“How ‘bout we celebrate at the top of that canyon over there?’ Electra suggested.
“Uh, let’s not…”
