This is to give some basic information on slave silks. The color of a slave's silks refers to her serving status, more so than referring to the actual color of the material.** Please note, if you're a new slave just learning about silks, drinks, etc., it would be advisable to learn the rules and customs of Gor BEFORE making the decision to beg the collar of a Master or Mistress. A collar is not a necklace... it is a symbol of ownership. It is likely that you will be much happier in a collar if you take the time to learn about the Master/Mistress and gorean customs first. **
Silks are normally very short, made of very thin, translucent material. Some may be fashioned like a tunic, the fabric knotted at the shoulders and flowing around the curves of a slave's body, easily removed with tug on the knot. Some may wear a belt made of binding fiber wrapped several times around the waist that can be used for securing the slave.
** WHITE SILK -- This refer's to a virgin. On IRC white silk is not necessarily a virgin, but the slave's sexual use is reserved for the Owner's pleasure ONLY.
New slaves are normally white silk, until they learn how to serve properly, know the various kneeling positions and be pleasing. This will give them time to learn, without the pressure of sexual service.
** RED SILK -- This refer's to a pleasure slave. The slave is fully trained in serving all beverages, knows the various kneeling positions, dances and is knowledgable in providing sexual pleasure. The Red Silk Pleasure Slave is the highest status among the slaves. It is what most slaves desire to be.
Just because a girl is red silk does not mean she can be demanded to sexually serve the general public. If her Master has set limits, those limits should be respected.
** YELLOW SILK -- These slaves are owned by the tavern. They work doing the tavern chores and do as the tavern Masters order them. Tavern slaves are allowed to whisper at their discretion, sitting on laps in the tavern and are also allowed to alcove, with the approval of the Tavern Masters. The Master/Mistress desiring a tavern slave's use must first barter a price with the Tavern Masters.
The Tavern Masters will ask if you wish to serve that person in alcove. Be sure to tell them truthfully if you do or not. Most Masters will not force you to an alcove with someone you do not want to serve.
** BLACK SILK -- This refers to an unowned, unpurchased, or a bred passion slave.
** GREY SILK -- A state owned slave
******* ONCE A SLAVE IS COLLARED, the Master/Mistress who owns that slave may have the slave in any color silk that is pleasing to his/her eyes, or, if the Master/Mistress chooses, naked. The collar tells everyone the slave is owned. It is the Master/Mistress's words that rule the life of a collared slave, not the color of their silks. *******
