The curtain is about to fall on yet another year
Out goes the old one, in comes the new one
Time to ring in the new baby with a big cheer
Festivities around the world have already begun
Some can't wait for the new year to begin
Anticipation heightens as to what it will bring
Celebrating with friends or with their next of kin
Allowing themselves to indulge in one final fling
For many there is no reason to mark a new dawn
Abandoned, homeless, hospitalized or all alone
It's just another year of misery, come and gone
I wonder when last they had some kindness shown
The clock is ticking, minutes continuously fly by
If we would only stop to see the misery of others
As we slowly prepare to say another good bye
And remember that we are all sisters and brothers
