Diligent Hunter
Through wooded lots and garden trails
He hurridly scampers to and fro
The highest trees he constantly scales
He's capable of putting on quite a show.
Always focused on the task at hand
Gathering sustenance for winters sleep
Though timid and shy he will take a stand
If into his domain you choose to creep.
A tongue lashing you will surely receive
The likes of which you never have heard
He expects no less than for you to leave
For you to remain, he says, is totally absurd!
So much yet to do, he cannot be distrubed
Time's running out, days are growing colder
Choose to remain, he will be most perturbed
The weight of the world lies upon his shoulders.
He scampers about, always in such a hurry
Diligently seeking, scouring, foraging
Constantly persevering, forever he does scurry
His winters provisions now will need storing.
