WCW World Title (formerly NWA)

The National Wrestling Alliance, the precursor to today's WCW was formed in 1948 with Brown recognized as champ. Brown was forced to retire after a car crash in 1949 and Thesz, who was scheduled to challenge him for the belt, was recognized as champion.
