Stick some fat slob in a fur suit, paint horns on his head and call him a beast. Can't forget the tiny black boots, oh excuse me, "hoofs"! Managed by Jim Corrnett, who must have done something REALLY bad backstage to get that job. If they wanted to get something to fit the image though, the WWF should have got some guy to follow Mantaur around with a plastic garbage can and a shove. Like the guys at the circus behind the elephants. First arrived at the 1995 Royal Rumble, the worst Royal Rumble ever. Surprised he lasted even a few minutes with such stiff competition in the Rumble with him as Aldo Montoya, Duke The Dumpster, The Heavenly Bodies, Mo, and Doink. He came in, did nothing, and Luger tossed him out. One of the worst WWF pay-per-views, and it was Mantaurs only pay-per-view appearence under that gimmick. Draw your own conclusions. He came to the ring for about the first month with a huge animal head on his shoulders and ran around like a bull. Too bad Tito wasn't around to fling his hot-pink El Matatdor blanket around while he did that. The head didn't really look too bad though. It went really well with his hoof boots and furry brown outfit. If you're going to look like an idiot, at least go all out, right? Then comes the crowning moment of the beastman's career. He had a King of the Ring 1995 qualifing match against Bob "Spark Pugg" Holly on RAW. Holly hadn't seemed to have won a match since the Royal Rumble at this point. No better cure for a winless streak then Mantaur. Mantaur was pinned by a crossbody, letting Holly into the King of the Ring. Looking over all of the King of the Ring members, Holly is usually looked at as the worst of the bunch since the gimmick sucked and was heatless. Could be worse though, Mantaur could have won. Mantaur vanished after that match, since Jim's punishment must have been over. If you want to find him look in a petting zoo, or the deli section of your grocery store.
