My Favorite Activities
Finally! My human left and this gives me a chance at the keyboard. I don't know why she minds my being here, I think a little of my fur is great for the mouse! You know, gives it a special look, and makes it do some very interesting things. I even leave some kitty snacks behind for her. Some of my efforts are just not appreciated around here. I'd protest, but when the human Kevin isn't around, she controls the food supply! One thing with cats, belly rules!
Now for the real story! I don't know what she's told you about me, but I will fill you all in! I've lived with these two for more than three years now, so I know exactly what goes on here. I just didn't know when I'd get my chance.
I have found that the male Kevin is much easier to control than the female Sheila. I have him wrapped! He's the one who took me in when my family could no longer care for me. I'll always love him for that. In fact, I was here for a full month before Sheila was. I won't let her forget that fact. I'm the Queen around here. I put the final stamp of approval on everyone and everything that comes in this house. Soooo if you want to visit, I suggest that you make me your best friend.
Notice that one of my favorite activities is CAD. I've found that it gets Sheila's attention immediately. CAD isn't my wonderful computer aided design, it's my skill at ctrl+alt+del. It really gets attention, especially when Sheila is downloading new programs. I've managed to prove this fact a couple of times. OK kitties, this is how it works. You hop on the keyboard gently placing your front right paw on the key that says ctrl, the left front paw on a key marked alt and the final touch with your right rear paw on a key marked del. This works every time! I must confess though, that this sometimes gets me a bit more attention than I would like.
Another thing I'm quite good at is taking care of animals smaller than I am. Here I am babysitting for Ruthie, a hamster. She used to sit behind the computer and watch everything. Her favorite, so she told me, was animated web pages. Ruthie, we miss you.
Just look at what those two did to me. They took me to Auriesville for the blessing of the animals. I don't know how many times I told them that I do not like to ride in cars. That ride was over an hour! I voiced my opinion loudly all the way out. Then to make matters worse, they allow little children to touch me. Children, complete with sticky fingers. Don't they realize how long I work keeping my coat clean?
I finally found a way to keep my humans under control! The perfect human sitters, meet Genesis and Exodus.
Our beloved Deuteronomy is no longer with us. We had her for more than fifteen wonderful years and today we had to let her go home to God. She is running around Rainbow Ridge with all the others who have passed on to a much better life. They no longer are in pain or suffering. It was a difficult parting but she somehow knew it was time to go. She'll always have a special place in our hearts as we remember the joy she brought to our lives.
