- Greetings -

Born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada., Robert Bateman has been a keen artist and naturalist from his early days. Bateman's work has recieved International critical acclaim and has attracted an enormous following (me being one of his biggest fans). His predominantly acrylic artwork is included in the collections of His Royal Highness The Prince Charles, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, the late Princess Grace of Monaco and Prince Berhard of the Netherlands.

Uniting his talent as an artist with his great knowledge of nature, Robert Bateman has developed a unique style with powerful, underlying abstract nature. His works have become renowned for their dramatic compositions, remarkable realism, and powerful immediacy thus winning him a huge and loyal international following. His approach is refreshing and his concepts unpredictable. With imagination influenced any one of a multitude of art periods and styles, his artistic statements are strong and stunning.

He has had many one-man museum shows throughout North America, including an exhibition at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C. His honors, awards and honorary doctorates are numerous; He was made Officer of the Order of Canada, the country's highest civilian award. And has also been the subject of three books and six films.

Bateman's art reflects his commitment to ecology and preservation. He has become spokesman for several environmental and preservation issues and has used his artwork and limited edtion prints in many fund-raising efforts. Bateman also serves as honorary chairman of Harmony Foundation.

I have admired this man since from the day I first remember seeing his work on display some years ago. He has been an influences in my life, leading me to listen to my heart and follow my dreams, not only in my artistic dealings but in life as well. And on this page and the ones following you will see a small sample of his incredible artistic talent.

Enjoy!
