There is nothing quite like the beauty of a rainbow. Whenever I see a rainbow, I am reminded of God's promise. It is a seal that confirms His convenant to us. God says in Genesis 9:11, "Thus I establish My covenant with you: Never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood: never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth." The rainbow is God's assurance to us of His mercy and protection.
Have you ever seen a rainbow during an especially difficult time in your life? There are many people who have had the pleasure of seeing a rainbow just when they seemed to need it most. I believe that God sends rainbows to encourage us and remind us to not be afraid. Imagine that He cares enough about us to give to us a continual reminder of His love and protection. This is what the rainbow has come to mean to me.
Are you going through one of life's storms? Have the skies darkened and has the rain set in? We can be certain that the clouds will clear and that the sun will shine again. To assure us, God often sends a colorful reminder of His unconditional commitment. Next time you see a rainbow, look up above and see the beautiful sign of His everlasting love. God put that rainbow there just for you! It is evidence of God's promise made to all and it's beauty is a wondrous site to behold.

Like the appearance of a rainbow in the cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around it. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord.
