TASK

You will work with your group members (Pit Crew) to complete your NASCAR project.  Each group member will have a specific role.  It is up to your group to decide who has which position on the team.

CREW CHIEF - this person will act as the coordinator of the group.  Your job is to keep everything on track (pardon the pun!) and oversee for any problems or stumbling blocks that may arise. The crew chief will be the only one in charge of communicating questions or problems with the owner (your teacher).

DRIVER - this person will be your driver through the web.  As you search for answers this is your team member in charge of directing the search and leading it to victory lane.  Of course, this person should also be the first one to speak of any problems they see with the car (your project).  If the crew can not solve the problem then the crew chief will take it to the owner for guidance/suggestions/help.

SPOTTER - just as in the race, this person keeps a look out for the driver to advise him what is ahead.  Your job here is to look ahead in the project and make sure there are not any bumps in your progress and keep the car on track and timely.  This person will be similar to the reader in your regular group activities, but also needs to act as a time manager.  The spotter may want to develop an outline or time management guide for the group to follow to complete the project.

STATISTICIAN - this position is similar to the recorder and quality controller positions.  As answers are discovered this person will be responsible for recording and organizing them.  Calculations and graphing responsibilities can be shared by all pit crew members, but should be coordinated and held by the statistician.

Now that you have your group roles, you should read over the task synopsis.
