Scotland was really cold, but incredibly amazing.  It is a beautiful country (I just cannot emphasize that enough), the people are incredibly friendly, and I highly recommend going.  I went on a chilly February Week, and tried to scope out as much as I could.  After an eight hour train ride from London (it was another 4 hours to London from Swansea...*yawn!*) I arrived in Edinburgh.  I met a few new people there, and actually got a historical tour of the city by a Grad Student we had met.  It was rainy, cold, and very very blue.  The banner picc above was taken on Loch Ness.  I had a guided tour of the loch, (apparently, Nessie was at her winter home in the Bermuda Triangle, or so my tour guide said...*grin*) and I also went to the Isle of Skye (unfortunatley, it was freezing, so I got to loiter in a restaraunt all day, I guess it helped to have a pretty face, because they made all the other loiterers get out) but only got to see a bit of it.  (I plan on returning when the weather is a bit less cold)  According to several people I talked to, the train ride up to Skye is supposed to be one of the most beautiful in the World - I had already booked my bus tickets and they were non-returnable.  However, the bus ride was amazing, very mystical, almost magical.

City Scape of Edinburgh.  This one looks like a mural almost.  It's cool, though.
