As you know, this year is the 50th anniversary of the ACC. To commemorate this event, we are putting together a list of 50 Classic Climbs in the Ottawa area (there are North American, Daks and Gunks ``50 Classics'' lists, so why not one for this region?). What is a classic climb you ask? The criteria we are considering include the following: (a) it's just a great climb (e.g. Colonel Buckets); (b) it's not a great climb, but gets climbed a lot (e.g. Neruda - a matter of opinion of course!); (c) it has historical significance (e.g. Peggy); and/or (d) the FA was done by an ACC member (Bob Milko's Rock Climbing Route (Hard Core) or BMCRHC for short).
As you've seen in the newsletter Steve Montgomery, Dwight Yachuk, and myself, have put together an inital list of 50 classic candidates, some of which I confess not to have climbed. But we'd like to hear from you!
Using this set of web pages you can vote for your favourites and/or recommend additions and or deletions to this list.
