Froggy Crack Buttress Access: Route E

Approach: The best approach is up the west bank of the stream, following an exiguous trail. The buttress is the most obvious one, directly facing the stream. A short bushwhack leads easily to the left side of the buttress. Froggy Crack itself is in the center of the main face.

Froggy Crack 5.9

Either climb awkwardly over large boulders and traverse left (old in situ pins) to the obvious thin crack (5.4), or climb straight up the steep rock directly beneath the crack (5.8). Follow the crack past a sapling to the top.

Cracked Skull Groove 5.9

About l0m right of Froggy Crack is a groove. Scramble up easy rock to a belay. The niche at the bottom of the groove is surprisingly difficult to stand in, but the move is well protected by in situ pins. Swing right from the niche and up, finishing through an obvious notch in the skyline.
