Federal Building
9:35 p.m.
Oct., 28th 1998

Special Agent Fox Mulder got off the elevator and down to the basement office he shared with his partner for a little over five years. When he reached the office door he noticed that the door was already unlocked. < She must already be here > When he opened the door he was greeted by a cold, dark room. He reached up to turn the light on there was no sign of Scully anywhere, in fact it looked like she hadn't even been there at all. So he just thought he had thought to lock the door the previous night. Then he saw a large manila envelop o his desk with the words "open me" on it and when he opened it there was a video tape with a note that said "play the tape" so he did. When he pushed play he was horrified at what he saw.
"Oh my god. Not again!" he whispered. Scully was strapped to a chair with tape on her mouth and eyes. There was little light but hut could at least make out the face that sat next to her. Alex Krycek.
"Hello agent Mulder. I'm sure you want to see you partner return home safe and alive so if I were you I would do exactly what is say! I don't want money or anything like that I want you!" The words sent a chill down Mulder's back. " I want you to come work for me. The things you have uncovered the things you have seen could be really helpful to us. All though there is one catch: you can never see you family or Agent Scully ever again. You have two days to decide." Just then he pulled the tape off of her mouth so she could talk.
"Mulder don't listen to him! I'll get away Mulder please! I love you Mulder I wanna see you again so don't listen mul-" But he cut her off by putting the tape back on her mouth.
"You hear that Mulder she loves you. Now you really have something to think about! Well call you in a day or so." Just then the tape went black and he stopped it not knowing what to do. By now he was in tears. He couldn't believe he had caused her MORE pain! So not know what else to do he turned on the radio and listened for a while to calm himself down. Then, like fate, "Have You Ever" by Brandy came on.

< What am I doing? I should be out there looking for her! > But he couldn't move. The song was paralyzing him. The words of the song caused him to think of Scully and his unspoken love for her. And her spoken love for him.

As the song ended Mulder realized that he had to get her back by making Krycek think he is going to work with him and then somehow get her and himself away from Krycek. < God how am I going to do this? I could shoot him but I can't! > He sat there for about three or four hours trying to figure everything out until the phone making Mulder jump back to reality.
"Agent Mulder you made a decision?" It was Krycek.
"I thought you were giving me two days to make a decision?"
"I am I am but I just wanna see how your doing."
"Okay I'll do it but I have to see you let Scully go before I do anything with you!" Mulder hoped that this would work.
"Okay deal. Meet us at M Street at 8:00 p.m. and Mulder come unarmed and you won't recognize your partner."
"Let me talk to her!" Mulder pleaded. Silence.
"Okay but make it quick." It worked thank god! "But Mulder we'll be listening."
"Fine! Hurry up!"
"Mulder? Is that you?"
"Yes Scully it's me are you ok? Did they hurt you?"
"No, Mulder they didn't hurt me. I'm fine. Mulder…" She said. He obviously knew she had been crying.
"Yea?"
"I'm scared. And I'm cold." He knew she must have been very scared for her to admit it.
"It's ok Scully I'll get you outta there! Hold on ok."
"Ok" she said. Then the line was disconnected.

7:45 p.m.
M Street

< God I should have told Skinner! Why didn't I? Because you didn't want to make this a big deal that's why! > Mulder fought with himself for about ten minutes until a car pulled up and turned the lights off. "Here we go!" he said sarcastically. He got out of the car in time to see Scully being thrown out onto the road, still gagged and tied.
"Scully!"
"She's fine! We'll let her go when you come with us." Krycek added.
"No I'm not going anywhere until I know she's alright!" Mulder yelled back getting a little annoyed.
"Ok fine. Let her go!" Krycek called back to one of his colleague who then untied Scully and ungagged her. She then ran to Mulder and hugged him, crying.
"It's ok its ok just get in the car I'll be there in a second." He whispered into her ear.
She looked up at him, confusion registering on her face. "How Mulder?"
"Just watch." He said with a smile on him face. Then he let go of Scully and she got in the car. Mulder than walked closer to Krycek and said "Okay" She couldn't tell what he said next but Mulder then pulled out a gun and shot the other men and shot Krycek in the arms and legs, turned and ran to Scully.
"Mulder what are you doing?" Scully asked as she got out of the car.
"Don't worry Scully I don't want him to die I just want him to suffer like he made us! He'll go to jail and he won't be able to bother us again!" Mulder said happily. Then he hugged her and whispered into her ear "I love you" She looked up at him a smiled whispering "I love you too" He looked back up at her smiling, then leaned down and kissed he softly on the lips. Then they smiled at each other for a while saying the words over and over again in their eyes. Then got in the car and drove off into the sunset wish they could drive forever and ever leave each other again.
