The Path of the Witch
We
shall walk the path of the Ancients,
In the footsteps of those who have gone before us,
And worship not in churches and temples,
But in forests, glades and meadows,
And the smell of the forest, and the scent of the grass
Will be the incense of our religion.
We shall gather together in the Sacred Circle,
And eat cakes and drink wine in the name of the Goddess.
The great Oak tree will be our cathedral,
The sacred fire will be our alter,
And the gentle rain our baptismal waters.
We shall be free in mind, body and spirit.
Let us worship in song, dance and feasting,
And bring joy to the Goddess by making love.
For such pleasures are her rituals, and her gifts.
Let us celebrate the changes of the seasons
As our Sabbats and Holy Days,
And celebrate the Wheel of the Year, as it turns endlessly,
As does the circle of Birth, Life and Death.
Let us rejoice in the rhythm of nature, as our Ancestors did.
We
shall recognize the importance of balance in all things,
And celebrate the sacredness of that balance.
We
shall respect the Earth and all living creatures,
And always know we are part of a much larger Universe.
Let us teach others by our example to respect our Mother Earth.
Let us offer others always kindness and compassion,
A helping hand, a listening ear and an open heart.
We shall know that with great power comes great responsibility,
And that we are responsible for our brothers and sisters.
Let others call us in truth The Wise Ones
Let us always remember that what we do comes back to us,
And live our lives every day in this knowledge.
We
must always keep the Wiccan Rede as our most sacred oath.
An ye harm none, do as ye will
We shall raise our children in love
and truth,
And teach them to honor the old ways.
Let us also welcome those who come
seeking our knowledge
With open arms, open minds, and open
books.
Let us proudly teach them to walk this
path with us.
Knowing that these young ones are our
future,
And will carry on our faith and
traditions when we are gone.
We shall know that all that happens in life is to be learned
from.
Let us never give in to anger, bitterness or regret,
But instead look for what is to be learned from every situation,
And seek always to grow intellectually and spiritually.
We shall worship the one true power,
The power of the Goddess, and of the Goddess within.
The power which moves the universe.
That which causes the Earth to spin,
And the Moon to hold to her course.
The power of the elements, Earth, Fire, Air and Water.
We shall know the tongue of the spirits,
And hear the voice of the wind.
We shall be as one with the Earth,
And draw our strength from
The trees, the rivers and the stones.
Let us always be tolerant and respectful of others beliefs,
Just as we wish for them to be tolerant of ours.
Let us be always true to our beliefs,
And in spite of all obstacles, keep to the old ways.
For our ways hold the secrets to the truths of life,
And we know of the cycles of Karma and rebirth.
We
shall honor the memories of our Ancestors,
And know that they are with us always.
As it was in the time of our beginning,
So it is now, and so shall it be forever.
We shall no longer hide out of fear in darkness and shadows.
We shall claim the power that is our birthright,
And stand strong in that power.
Let us walk proudly and hold our heads high.
Let others see us and know we walk the path of the Ancients.
For the Sky is our Father and the Earth our Mother,
We are Witches; we are the Children of the Goddess.
And Blessed We Shall Be.
