I HATE A@L
I HATE A@L
I hate A@L. That is one way to delicately put it. They
claim to be the "world's most popular internet service."
Ever heard of the bandwagon technique? Well there it is!
Ooooh they are the "most popular" and "everybody's got A@L"
so why don't we all go out and get it too? Actually we don't
even have to go out and get it, since every day we get another
one of those damned disks in the mail. Actually it was fun having all
those free disks to copy stuff on, but now they wised up
and started sending CD's instead. I do not have a CD burner, so
I think I am gonna call them up and request some diskettes
to "give to all my friends!!!" YEAH!! Free disks are
cool. That's the only good thing about A@L. Why
go out and pay money for disks when you can get them
free in your mailbox from those kind A@L people?
I suppose everyone's heard of the new 4.0 version they have out now.
How could you not hear it with all the commotion they cause about it?!?!
A@L is ALL ADVERTISEMENT. Nothing else. They say stuff like "the most popular
internet service" and "now you can send files over e-mail!" and "NEW! Fresh and
exclusive content!" Let me dissect each of these statements A@L makes. As
for the "most popular" gag, well that's because there are so many
people who are new to the internet and they don't know any better. I mean, after
all, the internet is the world's fastest growing technology. Probably thousands of people
sign up for internet service every day. We can't flame these folks for
being web newbies. After all we were, once upon a time, in the same position.
Everyone has to start somewhere. Anyway, it's probably a
proven fact that huge companies such as A@L gear their advertisement towards
novices. Companies want to please the largest population segment that they
can, to get the highest profit, of course. A@L KNOWS that
they would not generate much revenue from experienced internet
service subscribers. And they KNOW that the newbies or novices
are inexperienced enough to fall for their advertisement scams.
As for the second statement about sending files over e-mail, well DUH!
I use Bellsouth's internet service and I use Netscape as a browser.
Ever since I started using the internet I have been able to
attach files in e-mail!!! And A@L is just now discovering this "new" technology?
New my a$$!! I guess they're just slow. And for the final statement, "Fresh and exclusive content,"
that could mean ANYTHING. I just read that off of a CD they recently sent me.
Those are just a FEW of their advertisement scams. There are sooo
many more. Unless you enjoy receiving all that spam in your inbox, unless you
enjoy all those stupid advertisments, unless you enjoy going to those nonsense
chat rooms often full of a bunch of sick minded losers only to get spammed even more by these people,
DO NOT GET A@L!! If you have A@L, GET RID OF IT!! There are a LOT
of internet service providers that you will be MUCH happier with.
I have created this page merely to express my opinion about A@L, which the first amendment gives me the right to do.
