I've been wondering for a long time now what would be the #1 best toy of the 80's. Of coarse every child of the 80's would have a different opinion on that but I wanted to know what would be the most popular. To find out, I made a list of over 60 different toys from the 80's that were popular. I then sent out this list to all of my friends who were kids in the 80's and had them give me backthe ones they enjoyed playing with the most. I tried to give the list to an equal amount of boys and girls to make it fair. Ya know, I didn't want to see Transformers number 1 or My Little Ponys number 1 because not all girls played with Transformers and not all boys played with My Little Ponys, ya see? Well, I'm sure that there were some boys that played with My Little Ponys and some girls who played with Transformers but anyway, I tried to make it as fair as possible! So here's what you've all been waiting for, the top 10 favourite 80's kids toys!!! Drum roll please! 10) Garbage Pail Kids 9) My Little Ponys 8) Transformers 7) Popples 6) He-Man 5) Care Bears 4) Rubik's Cube 3) Hungry Hungry Hippos 2) Lite Brite 1) View Master! YAY! View Master is the #1 Favourite kids toy. Weren't view masters great? They showed slides of your favourite television shows and told a story too. I recently borrowed view master slides from a friend of mine (my mom through mine away) and I spent hours looking at My Little Ponys, Transformers, Fraggles, Cabbage Patch Kids, and many more of my favourites! View master's aren't only a great toy for our generation but for the children of the 90's too! My cousin, Jonathan, was celebrating his 5th birthday a couple of months ago and I went shopping with my mom to pick out a birthday gift for him. We were very close to giving him an Arthur board game but I looked across the rack of toys and saw view masters and view master slides. I remembered how much fun I had with my view master as a kid and I told my mom to get him that. We picked up some view master slides that had Mickey Mouse, Berenstain Bears, Sesame Street and other pictures on them and his birthday present was complete. At the birthday party when Jonathan opened his gift he didn't know what the view master was, but after a few minutes of teaching him how to use it, no one could get it out of his hands. There was even a big fight between him and his little sister over the view master! Of coarse that fight wouldn't have happened if it were the 80's because they would remember what the Care Bears taught them about sharing!
