"Top 40 Shore Dives in New Jersey" is a new book by Tom Gormley just released in January, 2008. It provides descriptions of 40 sites available for shore divers throughout the state. New and even seasoned divers are curious about shore diving in New Jersey. They may be intimidated due to lack of information and basically unaware of what is available.
The book is 8 1/2 by 11 laminated color softcover with 208 black and white pages of dive technique descriptions, site sketches, pictures, GPS numbers of entry points, listings of support organizations, discussions of various activities and much more. The book describes how Tom dives the 40 sites, and it is up to date because Tom dives these sites routinely.
Tom Gormley is a professional diver with over 16 years experience shore diving in New Jersey.
Sites are ocean, inlets, jetties, rivers, coves, lakes and bays. Wrecks include: Chauncy Jerome Jr, Adonis, Rusland, Pliny, Western World, Amity, Lizzie H Brayton, Creole, Meta, John Minturn, Miss Eleanor, Caterina, Remedios Pascual, SS Atlantus, 3 unnamed wrecks off: Sandy Hook, Ocean Beach, and Lavalette, and a train wreck at the Delaware Water Gap.
