In their best performance so far this year, Toronto broke a five game losing streak, beating Milwaukee in the last game to be held at the Skydome. Milwaukee was one of the hottest teams in the league coming into this game and had lost only once.
The game was pretty even through the first half, with Tracy McGrady making some incredible leaps at the basket. In the third quarter the Raptors went on a 10-0 run. After this, Milwaukee never regained the lead. Doug Christie was able to shut down shooting guard Ray Allen while adding 20 points of his own. The Raptors showed an ability to move the ball around and get good looks at the basket, something we had not seen before. In the fourth quarter, Toronto was steady as a rock, not allowing the Bucks to make a charge. We got a look at point guard Negele Knight, recently put on the active roster to help back up Alvin Williams. The Raptors will open the new Air Canada Centre for basketball on Sunday afternoon against the Grizzlies.
