The Humours of Tuaimgreine
This is a traditional slow hornpipe from County Clare
on the West coast, penned by that prolific composer, Anonymous.
I found it in a collection by Robin Williamson (Incredible
String Band) called THE PENNYWHISTLE BOOK (Oak Publications, 1977).
I arranged the melody for fiddle, pennywhistle, harp, and bodhran,
with a pipes intro, after the style of the Chieftans (lots of
unison playing).
The MIDI sequence was done using Cakewalk Express 3.01 with
an Ensoniq Soundscape Elite soundcard.
NOTE: if your card uses the Yamaha OPL4 wavetable synth,
the volume levels are going to be completely backward.
The OPL4 treats the "expression" controller #11 as a NEGATIVE
volume, which is completely opposite what all the other synths
do. If this is a major problem, I'll redo the file.
