Hello, and welcome to the world of Celtic culture!
Modern-day Irish Links: Well, you knew it existed, now here it is: all the strategically important (and otherwise interesting) facts about Ireland which you never knew and wouldn't bother learning unless you saw them here! Did you know that Ireland is a "transshipment point for and consumer of hashish from North Africa to the UK and Netherlands"? No? Well, now you do. LIVE VIEW ON DUBLIN
In addition to the fantastic gadgetry (the picture of O'Connell Bridge refreshes itself every two minutes), this page, run by the Irish times, offers a revealing look into the pulse of Dublin.
The Irish People, Have you Forgotten Bloody Sunday?
Remembering Bloody Sunday
Two excellent Bloody Sunday pages. If you don't know what Bloody Sunday is, I advise you strongly to look at these websites. If you do, I still advise you to visit them!

Do you want to be an Irish citizen? Check and see if you can! (My only chance is marriage.

YourDictionary.com: Celtic Languages
A wealth of Celtic language resources, all conveniently organized and attractively presented. It's even got Breton, though, alas, I didn't spot any neo-Cornish.
A fun little romp through Cymraeg, complete with an English-Welsh Welsh-English lexicon.

Manx Gaelic! (The language of the Isle of Man.)
Gaeilge ar an Ghréasán
Irish Gaelic . . . probably the most common form. :c)

Braveheart
The all-time best, in my ever-so-humble opinion. What's up with the "ruthless pagan Longshanks" bit on their page, though??
Michael Collins
Second-place. My Irish friend Abie calls it "pure propaganda," and while I agree, it is such picturesque propaganda! :c)
Rob Roy
As long as we're on Liam Neeson, see him in kilt! By-the-bye, Abie terms this "a film about the inviolable honour of a cattle-thieving, murdering brigand." Right again, but nonetheless a brilliant watch.
Some Mother's Son
I've not seen this film all the way through, though I've seen the last hour of it over 7 times. I've read the screenplay, though, and by all accounts the first half of the film is as powerful as the script. The page is the best of all of these; it has a linked forum for discussion of Irish politics.
I'm making very little attempt to alphabetise or comment upon these; just look through. Don't worry- all the band pages below come with either my personal recommendation or that of my friend Sarah (whose musical taste I trust implicitly

The Bodhrán Page Lovely page indeed. Not only does it feature a fascinating instrument (the one which taught me I have no rhythm), but it has some kick-hind-end graphics! In fact, I got the green-white-and-orange Celtic knotwork below from this page.
Ceolas: celtic music instruments All the instruments. I especially recommend the harp page (big surprise!) and the bodhran page listed above.

I have divided these into two categories, Christian and Not. Please, no e-mail saying Catholics aren't Christian- they've got the Christ thing going on, and that's enough for my purposes.
