Good and Useful Webpages
I have come across various pages on the internet over the years and some of them are worth checking out once a week or so. Here I will share my glossary, if you want to call it that, and I do, so I will. Actaully, lets call it a treehug, why not. So here is my treehug.
- Box Office Guru
This page is interesting to check out how movies are doing at the domestic box office. If you are interested in the ridiculously large amounts of money we put into the movie industry each weekend then I suggest checking this site out once or twice a week. It also has a list of the top 50 blockbusters of all time which is intersting. And when you read that Titanic made $600.8 million domestically and another $1.2 billion worldwide, you can remember to thank all the little teenie boppers that made that happen. Sick, just sick.
- Homestar Runner
These are probably the funniest flash cartoons that you will find on the internet. 1-5 minute cartoons of Homestar Runner, Strong Bad, and all the other characters The Brothers Chaps created. Be sure to check out Teen Girl Squad and of course, the weekly Strong Bad e-mail! Yes, they are real questions he is answering, though Strong Bad himself is fictional.
- Dictionary and Thesaurus
I love using this site for changing words around in things that I write for school or the website. If I use the same word in two consecutive sentences, I just go to the thesaurus and come up with a new word. Nice dish.
- Altavista Translator
This translator can translate entire webpages if you give it the URL or just any block of text. It is useful, and fun to try to translate blocks of words into and back out of other languages and seeing how accurate it stays.
- Peterborough's Weather
Ya gotta know the weather.
- Sign Language
This one is a little random, but it is a very comprehensive list of words in sign language along with little video clips of how to sign each one. If you are interested in sign language, then I hand you your utopia.
