Rumor says, Moses HARROD & Mary Jane (DUVALL),
then residents of KY, eloped and
headed "west" in a covered wagon.
This would support the eloping theory.
Perhaps the "Home Town Marriages" of
these couples were not approved of?
In any event, it appears the couples married
1st; Franklin Co., KY Nov 1855
2nd; Clark Co., IND Nov 1855.
Here are the details of the marriages....
15 NOV 1855;
HARROD, Moses, Res. Henry, 22, Born Franklin
married, Mary Jane DUVALL, Res. Franklin, 18, Born Owen
23 NOV 1855;
HARROD, William, Res. Franklin, 20, Born Franklin
married, Malinda E. DUVALL, Res. Franklin, 17, Born Franklin
