Perfect Love Richard Stephens' latest album Perfect Love is chocked full of ballads. Of the 16 songs, eight are cover versions. Richie on this album does cover of 'Crushed', 'There's Nothing Better Than Love', Seal's 'Kiss From A Rose', 'Nobody Knows' from the Tony Rich Project, Tom Jones' 'It's Not Unusual', Marvin Gaye's classic 'What's Going On', 'Can't Stop My Heart From Loving You', 'If Loving You Is Wrong'. He is at his best in track #8, 'It's Not Unusual'. One's ears would have to be keen to discern that it isn't the Welshman Tom Jones. For all the fans of rhythm and blues, this album contains classic songs that does the original songs justice. Stephens is one of Jamaica's premier crooners. He's got the range and the talent to make some big hits. The love songs on this album are sung with the emotion, the feeling of a man who knows love. The bassy voice of Stephens does justice to all of the songs. |
