Name: D'Artaneya
Age: 5
Birthday: April 7th, 1995
Breed: Arabian
Registry: Arabian Horse Registry of America, Inc.
Color: medium bay
Markings: small off-center star on forehead
Background: She was trained as a western horse and given to some grand children as a pleasure pony. They never rode or took care of her so she ended up being out in a field for 6 months with no training. Then she was bought for me (Julie), for a Christmas present (1999).
Boarding At: Midcrest Arabian Farm
Training: This mare hadn't been ridden in a long time (6 months), but I have been riding!!! She is great and we are cantering, lead changes, etc. We also have been beginning to jump and she collects really well.
Personality: really a sweet horse. She loves people and is exceptionally friendly.
Goal: To make it into some horse trials/3-day events (dressage, cross country jumping, and show jumping).
Shows: Our 1st show was on August 26th and we didn't place in anything (but I didn't expect to). Then, on October 7th we went to another show. It went really well- we placed in every class!! We got 3 fifth places, 1 fourth, and 3 seconds! These ribbons were in English Equitation and English Pleasure.
