Chapter 4

"Wahhhhhhhh!"

My eyes opened slowly. Tay leaned over and kissed me. "I got him." he said, and crawled out of bed.

"Thanks." I mumbled, rolling over to look at the clock. 4:57 AM. Not a feeding time. Probably a dirty diaper. Taylor could handle it. I was drifting off to sleep, when I felt Taylor crawl back into the bed next to me.

"What was it?" I asked sleepily.

"Dirty diaper." he said.

Just as I thought. "Okay." I said.

I rolled over into his arms. He held me close and we fell asleep soon after. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

When I woke up, the clock said 8:02AM. Time to get up and face the day. I heard the shower running. Taylor was already up.

I stood up and stretched. Slipping on my bedroom slippers, I walked toward Joey's room to get him up. When I got there, he was already awake, looking curiosly around the room.

I picked him up and cuddled him.

After I had bathed and dressed Joey, I layed him back in his crib and headed into Taylor and I's bedroom to get myself ready. As I passed through the kitchen, I saw Taylor at the stove. He heard me and turned around.

"Hey there." he said.

"What'ya cookin'?" I asked.

"Breakfast." he replied.

"Duh. I mean what..."

"Pancakes."

"That's really sweet of you." I said. "We'll have something new for a change."

"Yup. Now go get ready so we won't be late for church."

"Okay." I said. I went into the bedroom and grabbed a towel, then headed into the bathroom for a nice, hot shower.

45 minutes later, the three of us were in Taylor's jeep speeding toward St. Mary's Catholic Church (author's note: I have no idea of Hanson's religion and there is no such church, I just made something up!) Sunday's were my favorite day of the week. I usually had some free time to spend alone with Joey and Taylor.

"Hey Tay, did Ike ever say whether or not he and Drew were coming over for dinner tonight?" I asked him.

"Nope, I'll call him when we get home." he said.

"We rode the rest of the way in silence, with the exception of Joey's occasional noises. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

After church, Taylor called Isaac, finding out that they were coming. I layed Joey down for a nap, and decided to take one for myself. I layed down on my bed. I love Taylor and I's room. The walls were white, as well as the bedspread and curtains. The room had a HUGE window facing the west, so Taylor and I got a great view of the sunset every night. There were built-in bookshelves that we filled with Tay and I's books. Mostly poetry. Some nights, Taylor would read poetry to me until I fell asleep. It was hid romantic side. My favorite part of the whole house was the little music studio that was built into the garage. My dad had put in in. Then he had died when I was twelve, and I missed him tremedously. The studio had been my 11th birthday present. I had always loved to sing, and so my daddy had put in the little recording studio for me. Sometimes Taylor and I wrote music and then recorded it. I play both keyboards and guitar, but since keyboards are what Taylor does best, I play guitar when we record music. Sometimes we have Zac come over and play the drums for us. We were both members of very successful bands before Joey was born, but both broke up when Taylor and I quit. Okay, I'd better stop yakking. Music is my favorite subject. I could go on for hours. But, as I was saying, I went to take a nap. A few moments later, Taylor crawled into bed next to me. He began rubbing my back. I rolled over to look at him. He beautiful in every way, not just physically. I had never loved anyone else, and I knew I never would. A lock of his long blond hair fell into his eye. I reached up to brush it away. He smiled his heart-stopping smile. He leaned down and kissed me. His lips began to part mine slowly, and pretty soon his tounge found it's way into my mouth. We kissed for a few moments before his hand reached up my shirt. I reached down and undid the snap on his cords. My mind screamed, "STOP!!!!THE LAST TIME YOU DID THIS, YOU GOT JOEY!!!!!" As Taylor's hand went further down, I pulled away.

"What's wrong?" he asked, gasping.

"Taylor....we... have...tos stop." I said, trying to catch my breath."

"Why?"

"Yeah, so?" "Listen to yourself and be reasonable." I said, getting annoyed that Taylor wasn't listening to me.

"Alright, alright." he said, slowly calming down as well.

He and I had fooled around alot since Joey was born, and this happened every time. Everything felt so right with Taylor, but I didn't want the same thing to happen again, that happened before.

"I'm sorry baby." I said. "You know I love you, but I wanna wait."

"Until when?"

"Until we're old enough to accept the consequences."

"What do you mean?" he asked.

"I mean that if I was to get pregnant again, we'd be old enough to handle parental responsibilities." I told him.

"Alright. I respect your thoughts, and I don't wanna force you to do anything you don't want to do." he said.

"I'm not doing it just for me, I'm doing it for you too." I said.

"I know." Taylor said. "I love you so much. You're the best thing that ever happened to me."

"How did I get so lucky to have you?" I asked.

"I don't know how I got so lucky with you either." he said.

I looked over at the clock. 4:27 PM. Suddenly, I remembered something. Isaac and Drew were coming over for dinner tonight. "Oh crap, Tay. Drew and Ike are coming over at 6:00. We gotta get up and get to work."

"Oh God, you're right. I completely forgot." he said, climbing off of me.

We straightened our clothes and headed into the kitchen to decide what to fix.
