FAQ

What, an faq, whatever for?  Well, why not.  Here's a couple of answers to questions that haven't been burning in people's minds:

1) What is "Above Ground Testing"?

Its a poem, a web page and a ezine.  The purpose is to showcase both my talent and the talent of other poets, who deserve to have their voices heard and their feelings expressed. In a world of pain, poetry is the salve for the soul.

2) Why that title?

Perhaps its due to growing up in the 60's and 70's, with all those images of mushroom clouds and impending destruction of the earth.  Or, it could be I simply thought it was a catchy title for the whole thing and used it.  If this is the case, perhaps those mushroom clouds were seared into my conscious deeper then I thought.

3) How often?

So far, once a month.  Nearly missed a couple of deadlines, but I've been right on track.  It been posted at my web page https://www.angelfire.com/on/abovegroundtesting/ , usually around the 11th of each month.  I also post notices in rec.arts.poems and alt.ezines.

4)Can I contribute my work?

Sure you can.  Just read the guidelines .  If your work adheres, you will see it posted.  I'm looking for poetry, prose, reviews.  If you want to write it, I'll read it and publish it, if I can.
If the work does not adhere, perhaps you would be interested in submitting it to my other ezine  Avant Garde Times . This ezine is a quarterly, so it may take some time.

5) Who are you?

Who am I?  I exist in the ether that is the internet.  Actually, I live somewhere in Eastern Ontario.  I work on this on my computer in the basement of my house.  I have been writing poetry for the last four years, after a considerable hiatus.  Maybe I had to go through life for a time before the creative muse could work properly.

6)What does the average issue have.

Well, it has some opening words by me.  Then I follow that with a review or two.  The reviews have been on;  books, movies and cd's.  I get the books from my local library.  If the title or the author looks interesting, I'll review.  If you have something ( cd or book) and you would like me to review, just  write me .    After this, comes the poetry, first from contributors and then a few from me.  I have a few closing comments.  I list some of the music I've listen to during the production of the ezine.  With that, the ezine is posted at my web page and off it goes to be read by millions.
