North Bay, Ontario Hello, Glenn Moreau hailing originally from Timmins Ontario. I worked in the local mines and B.C. before being hired on with Ontario Hydro from 1970 to 1974 in Abitibi Canyon. I worked as a janitor/cook and spent my cooking time with the maintenance crews at Otter Rapids. I left the Canyon to further my career in cooking by going to Algonquin college (in Ottawa) and taking my Chef's training which led to a 20 year career with the Navy in the Canadian Armed Forces. During this period of time I have been to Europe twice, Alert, N.W.T. for 6 months, Bermuda 35 times and all through the Carribean many times. In the fall of 1996, in Halifax N.S. I retired from the Forces
to take up security work for a private company for three years.
In 1999, I moved to North Bay Ont and began working for the Commissionaires
in security work part time. this is where I presently reside
and being semi retired, (not retarded) I have plenty of time
to reflect on all the places and people I have either seen or
met. The Canyon remains upper most in my memories mainly because
of the bond that develops from being in an isolated environment.
