Some tips
- 27.065 MHZ [09] is for emergencies and traveler assistance calls only
- Emergency transmissions Must be given priority on any frequency!
- Always use ten codes & Q-codes in conjunction with Plain English
- Talk in a normal voice. Shouting distorts your voice over the air
- Hold the microphone 1 -2 inches away from your mouth
- Even if you do not hear some one, they may hear you that is why it is important to repeat your emergency transmission numerous times and to provide as much information as possible even if no response is heard. But pause a moment between transmissions to allow a response.
