Nothing can prevent someone from stealing your radio equipment, but there are many things you can do to lessen the chances of the theft.
Buy a CB which doesn't stand out in the vehicle. A silver radio stands out more noticeably in a black interior than a black or dark colored radio would.
When you leave your vehicle, take the microphone with you, or leave the MiC in the trunk
Use a magnetic mounted antenna which can be removed and stored inside your trunk when you are not inside your car or truck. An antenna is a big indication that a radio is inside and antennas themselves can be subject to theft and mutilation
Store the Serial number and the FCC Identification number in your station records
Have a photo of the radio installed in your car, for ID and recovery porpoises if it is ever stolen and later found
Talk to your police department about other safety and security tips
Nothing can guarentee that your radio will never be stolen, but these tips can help lessen the chances.Remember: it's harder to steal what you can't see!
