James is a 17 year old OAC student at the Humberview. His passion is piano. He is taking grade 10 Classical piano and is also the school’s jazz pianist for the stage band Jazzork and the vocal jazz group Mkosa.
He has an obsession with -the music of Elton John and the comedy of Jerry Seinfeld.
He dreams of one day becoming famous, most likely in the world of pop music. He is also a singer and songwriter and has a strong interest in the musical theater. If financially possible, James will attend Berklee College of Music, Boston in September of 1999. Otherwise he hopes to pursue a dual major in jazz performance and English at a Canadian University.
He has one sibling, Michael, 14- a drummer and guitarist and is the son of Chris and Lynne Butlin. The family emigrated to Canada from England in 1989 and are now proud Canadian citizens.
James would like to remind you all that “ To try to forget something is to think about it”, so don’t live in the past - stride towards the future.
