Saturday, Jul-17-99:
Rock Report talks w/lead guitarist Frankie Sullivan at Rock Fest '99.

1)-RH: It has been a long time since we've heard something about the band what happened after I saw you guys playing in Koln (Germany) in '93.
FS: We have kept touring every summer in the States. We have also been in and out of the studio writing and recording songs.

2)-RH: Also I was told that Stephan Ellis was back in the band together for a while, how come he left?
FS: Stephan was not up to the task physically and so he decided not to do it any longer.

3)-RH: What are the names of the drummer & bass player in SURVIVOR these days? And in what other bands did they play before?
FS: The drummer is still Marc Droubay and the bass player is Billy Ozzello.

4)-RH: What did you think of the fact that SURVIVOR was voted so high by our Dutch & Flemish readers in the recent ROCK REPORT issue?
FS: I think it's great! When you gave me the magazine I did not have the time to look at it for a couple of days. When I finally read through it I was really into the response from our fans there. We have always had a great following there and plan on only continuing the relationship. It will be GREAT to get back over there and do some dates again!

5)-RH: Isn't it about time you guys should tour in the Benelux, maybe together with another band or two?
FS: Sure, that would be GREAT!

6)-RH: Your guitar playing was amazing that afternoon in Cadott, the solo's were outstanding (too bad the sound wasn't good all the time), do you guys play a lot of shows in the Chicago area?
FS: We play a couple of shows a year here in the area. We generally go out and do a tour in the summer of places like the one you saw us at. Thanks for the comments on my guitar playing. I try and play the best I can every time I play.

7)-RH: Besides SURVIVOR what are your 5 fave albums of the 80's & 90's?
FS: Alice in Chains - Grind
The Replacements - Couldn't Change a Thing
Foreigner - 4
Eric Clapton - From the Cradle
Robert Cray - Strong Persuader

8)-RH: Last question, when can we expect a new album from you guys & if you have some new songs with who did you write most of the new tracks?
FS: We hope to release a record next summer. I have a lot of songs I have recorded here at my home studio which I had built a couple years ago. I have been doing mostly writing on my own but I have also written some great stuff with Dave Bickler. It depends really. When I get way into making the record there are a few friends I plan on hooking up with and doing some songwriting with.
